What happened to British boxing?

I'm not reading your posts, you're a 100% troll looking for a reaction.

But.. Name a better era of British Boxing than this one? The UK have world class fighters in almost every division,and a world champion in almost every division. The truth hurts.

 

I too take quality over quantity, and as I wrote you do not have 'proven elite talent' until you have hindsight, we need at least another decade before being able judge that fairly.


What we do know is the amateur game is stronger than it has ever been, and that during the entire period between Winstone and Naseem there was not one UK Olympic champ.

As the evidence shows in the past; in capitalist countries a successful amateur programme leads to a boon in the pro game. The American domination of the pro game in the 80s and 90s was built on the amazing success of the 76 and 84 Olympic teams and backed up nicely by the 80 team that could have been and the solid 88 team.

Millions have been spent on the Olympic Boxing programme since London won the games and the pro game is reaping the reward. There are exceptional talents that are pro, and a lot more so than any era since the 1880s.

And I think in due course a couple of 'superstars' will emerge from the pack to put a face on this era. That we have so much talent we do not know really who these people will be, just shows what great shape the game is in, talentwise.

 

lol Josh Taylor is good but theres about 30 better talents than him in the UK

 

theres so much talent in the Uk and so manyw world champions. Theres been 4 different world champions in every division for many years,,, thats boxing nowadays.. but his is the most world champions the UK has had.Its a golden era full of top talents, and a few of them are bound to become superstars.
