Marciano did not go down like a chinny girl via one big shot to the face. Marciano did very well given his limitations. Sent from my SM-G925W8 using Tapatalk
You have to realize what type of out of touch **** riders your dealing with, ''Lewis beat Tua, and Rahman and Briggs? he must be top 3 all time!!'' said no one ever, esp. when he was active and you would think this so called greatness would've been apparent at the time all this was happening that they wouldn't need all of these mental gymnastics to make Lewis seem more important than he really was, he was considered a good fighter with a **** attitude but as far as being on that tier Tyson and Holyfield were perched? nonsense..and then to read rubbish like He always beats a Tyson or Holyfield? based on what exactly? They would have just as much a shot at knocking him cold or outworking him than him doing the same to them, no one had to wait 15yrs after the fact to call Tyson nor Holyfield great, we KNEW they were while we were watching them at their respective best..its why the general public loves Tyson and to a lesser extent Holyfield to this day and only Lewis weirdo cheerleaders have an overblown affinity for him..
Did Ali lose to Spinks via one big shot to the face? Did Holmes lose to Spinks via one big shot to the face like an over protected girl? Lenni got chinned by a D level fighter which should never have happened in the first place.
Rubbish. I knew Lewis was great when he was fighting. The same as I knew Tyson and Holyfield were great. I'm the same age as all three of these boxers and l still recall thinking that Tyson was unbeatable. That is until he wasn't. I even predicted Holyfield would beat Tyson because l knew Tyson was fighting tomato cans after he got out if prison and he wasn't getting any rounds under belt. I also saw Ruddock give Tyson aĺl he coukx handle in two brutal fights that Tyson still says Ruddock hit like a fvcking mule. Then I saw Lewis destroy him and then watched as both Bowe and Tyson ducked him. Lewis also destroyed Golota. But those who were around at the time know this, others who are younger or have agendas either are unaware of much if this or are trying to spin things for whatever reason. If the 83 in your username is the year you were born then l'm 20 years older than you and you were just a child when these three were fighting. So whatever you think you know you've learned on YouTube or boxrec. Hell you were in diapers when these guys were in their primes. And UFC knows less about boxing then he does about the UFC. All l need to say to confuse him is GSP and he'll have to Google to find out what that means.
Chinny Lenni was worthless in 1996, Tyson went for the route setting up the Holyfield fight as it was worth more money and it was the fight that the public wanted to see. In any case Lenni if he really wanted too, could have pulled the strings necessary to get the fight with Tyson in 96 but he chose to accept compensation and step aside.
Tyson and Holyfield were of the same "generation". Lewis, despite being 1 year older than Tyson and only 3 years younger than Holyfield, stayed in the amateurs another 4 or 5 years and was among the next crop. Tyson and Holyfield turned professional within months of each other. Holyfield won his first world title in 1986, and Tyson a few months after. Tyson was undisputed HEAVYWEIGHT chanpion, and Holyfield was former undisputed CRUISER champ and was Tyson's #1 contender, around the time Lennox Lewis was getting ready to have his pro debut ! And then Lewis took at least 8 years of being professional to develop into his cited prime version, by which time Tyson and Holyfield had been professional 12 years or more and were well past prime. It is strange how people talk as if Lewis proved himself the best of Mike and Evander's "generation".
I can't see Floyd winning, no. Duran would beat him handily at 135, at 140 he'd turn the trick and at 147 he would also win. Floyd's a great fighter but Duran isn't a good match for him. Duran anytime from winning the lightweight title thru to the win over Leonard is too much. No shame in that.
90's Duran never fought under 168. You asked, got an answer, didn't like it and went all childish. If you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen.
Your descriptions of the opposition tell the story eloquently . All Lewis's opponents were sh*t all Holyfield's marvellous. Why would anyone want to get into a debate with such a biased poster?
One thing is that you pick Duran it is fine , another thing is being biased like hell and not admitting that floyd could outbox him for example ,when you talk about a fantasy fight between 2 greats and you dont give one of them any chance,it is ridiculous and biased.
It's not biased at all. Prime Duran would be too much for Floyd and i would take that to the bank personally. Floyd does not have the power or force to offset him attacking and Duran is too good to be outboxed by Floyd. Duran would throw punches in bunches when in range to offset Floyd's slick defensive moves. He would be looking to bully him and he would have plenty of success. Duran is a force of nature at 135, would be at 140 and was one helluva fighter at 147. There's not a 135 i would pick over him and he would be basically as good at 140 and had a couple of great wins at 147 while still close to peak. There are numerous ATG's i'd take him over. This is Roberto Duran we are talking of. The guy was a machine.
Yeah I'd favor Duran over Mayweather too especially at 135.. I wouldn't have as much confidence as you picking him above that weight though. Once Duran left the lightweight ranks he was more vulnerable, and Floyd is a man I hesitate to pick too many guys over. Dude always found a way to win and STILL hasn't figured out how to lose.
