Could anybody in history outbrawl these fighters?

Who gives a **** about 'bench pressing'? We're talking in combat and Foreman's never been shifted round the ring, while Gay Boy clearly has... by a blown up crusier at that. Also, Heart is the area above all others that is vital in brawls- and the main reason brawls are won.

"Ability to rise from canvas". Yeah, you'd have a point if Tyson hadn't visited it- but he did and he found it to his liking when he was there. Much to his eternal embarrassment.

I agree, all people have seen of lamotta on film is when he is horribly weight drained/past his prime or fighting at 175lb above his best weight near retirement. Even past his prime you see the cutie underated defensive skills of lamotta, but the 1943-1946 indomidable hurricane non stop human windmill is unfortunetly not on film. The Jake Lamotta of the mid 1940s was impossible to keep off you because his chin strength and stamina were so great and he never stopped throwing punches, he was like a nightmare. Lamotta showed in spurts on the little film we have(round 15 Dauthille fight) what he was capable of fighting consistently for 15 rounds in his prime.

When Dempsey Fought Firpo He Was Already On His Way Down And Still Dominated, In The Same Era Dempsey Would Hold His Hands Higher, but Even If He Didnt Dempsey Would Thrash Foreman He Ate The Big Guys For Brekfast.dempsey Could Be Inside Tearing Big George Up .alot Of Dempseys Crushing Blows Were About 6 Inces To A Foot .unlike Frazier Who He Is Often Compared To Dempsey Fought Like Tyson But With More Heart And Better Outside Boxing Skill.wich He Could Also Use To Win If Hurt By One Of Georges Wild Swings Dempsey By Ko 3-7

it bemuses me to. louis as great as he was...Could be knocked about and bullied. and be out box. it was his boxing abilty and precise extremly powerful combonations that got him the win.

huge shoulders but tiny tiny legs. only guys with the big legs can really outbrawl...i consider louis a vamper. using the other guys mistakes for his own benifit. and if all else goes arrey....walk them down on to a left hook:good

tyson i think would just run right over louis...just too fast, accurate and has just as much power as louis...and i regard tysons chin far better than louis's. louis might be able to box and move but rarely could you do that for long.

against foreman, louis i think could jab and move better. where and use combinations to produce flurries to either back foreman up or to punish him for trying to be agggresive.

That's a very fine question. I guess you could say that Louis is considerably more measured and can fight in a couple of different ways. Personally I think both have a good chance, i'd favour them.

I can't see how Tyson wouldn't stand a good chance against Foreman, I'd actually make him favourite in that one. He has as good a chin, equal power (better technique and delivery) a much tighter defense, faster hands and better movement. If you take Ziare when Ali was landing on Foreman frequently: Tyson's punches will come almost as fast and with additional concusive power. Foremans best chance here is to go for an early bomb out or force a stoppage, I honestly can't see him doing that.

If there's any swarmer who stands a big chance against Foreman, Tyson is that one.

Whilst I agree with Conteh that George is holding the cards in this one I can imagine Tyson jumping him easrly and finishing it. I wouldn't bet on it but it's a possibility...

But come on??? Heart not a factor? Holyfield reached in and ripped Tyson's heart right out of his chest... And bench pressing? What's that got to do with boxing?

You really think Mosley could outbrawl Duran? It's a good fight if Mosley is fighting his own fight, but in a brawl I don't think he could cut it.

    Cheers mate.

:good McGovern has gotta be my favourite fighter out of the old school and I (like you) couldn't see anyone outbrawling him. Harada is a really interesting choice though... You think points?

Carlos Zarate and Ruben Olivares were absolutely deadly at Bantamweight Who loved to brawl and also had the best left hooks in the Biz.

Kid Gavilan could most likely easily outbox Pipino Cuevas. But if he chose to Brawl.... No Way.

He couldn't outpunch him, that's for sure, but he was far more skilled and crafty in close and in the clinch than Cuevas.
