DE- AND REHYDRATION, look it up![/QUOTE] Your first two questions go hand and hand. People felt Canelo was forcing Golovkin down for the lineal title so he dropped the belt. Extreme weight cutter? Sure he struggles but Trout and Angulo rehydrate nearly the same. Again, dropped the belt due to the whole "won't fight at a catch weight for the lineal" from Golovkin.
Can't support Canelo's decisions, fighting khan and then gunning for Pacquiao is ridiculous. As for the Golovkin situation, he made himself look bad with his mouth more so than his actions. I have no problems with the smith fight.
Canelo will get blasted from now until he takes the GGG fight regardless of his opponent. Both Kahn and Pac are understandable as smart financial moves.
The same thing was said about DLH/Pac. But yes, Canelo would also get lambasted if he took that fight; it's along the lines of Floyd/JMM. Good name great payday, as boxing fans we hate to hear that but in the end we would do the same if in FLoyd and Canelo's shoes.
Golden Boy knows nobody beats GGG at 160. Canelo knows nobody beats GGG at 160. Everybody knows nobody beats GGG at 160. Far safer to hang out at 154. Even if you have to starve yourself to get there.
More money to be made at 154. GGG will get his shot, but he has to wait until Canelo is finished with 154. Then if GGG is a good boy he can get his long awaited pay day.
Tangentially, anyone know Jermall Charlo's ring weight? Trout is a pretty big JMW, looked huge next to Cotto, and Jermall in turn looked enormous next to him. I reckon big J is rehydrating just as much, if not more, than Canelo.
Its too bad, when he was first coming onto the big scene he looked good. But now, it's just riding it out and getting as much money as he can. Can't blame him, but he's lost a lot of respect from fans.
Trout was only about 2lbs lighter as Canelo at fightnight as far as I remember. So pretty damn big for a LMW. Don't know about Jermall though.
