Cutting off the ring is a lost basic fundamental. Only 2 guys do it to perfection....

    Again, good post.

Hard to find someone who can write balanced material on here, even on the actual website itself!

Agree to a certain extent. Porter cutoff the ring in a few rounds, but during the rest he totally neglected that and went face first into the lion's den. Luckily for him, Thurman wasn't able to capitalize on Porter's recklessness. He kinda looked like Ricardo Mayorga when he was swinging for the fences and found nothing but air.

I agree that Porter needs a new trainer. Every time they showed Porter's corner in-between rounds, I NEVER heard his dad give him any good advice. I believe if Porter had invested a whole lot more into the body, he could have worn down Thurman. Oh well, it's Porter's choice if he wants to keep his dad in his corner, but he'll never win a major belt with his dad's "training." It's a shame because Porter seems to have a rock solid chin and his stamina seems very good. He didn't even seem to be breathing hard after the fight.

Anyhow, right man won. I had the same scorecard as the judges.

One would think more boxers would have this fundamental cemented, considering it's purely a learned skill through conscious effort and repetition. It's not like speed, power, reflexes etc, that for the most part are innate god-given abilities.
