AJ looked tired, gaunt & seemed to lack his normal power on Saurday against Breazeale. In the press conference & other interviews AJ kept going on about how tired he is & needs a break to "recharge" does this mean he will go on holiday somewhere obscure like he's gone to previously and get away from everybody switch off his phones etc and then "recharge" without any distractions. I personally think AJ will come back in November fully "recharged" and as powerful as he was before the Breazeale fight if not i think he will struggle against the likes of Wilder, Klitschko ,Fury, Ortiz & even Haye.
AJs looking much smaller & clearly lacked real punching power against Brazeale https://mobile.twitter.com/jamie_velocity/status/747033199478452224/photo/1
I think a break would benefit both AJ & Eddie. AJ: The kid has been busy since he turned pro, let him have a month off. Eddie: This is where it gets interesting for him, as his next move is crucial in keeping the cash chow alive. He needs as much time as possible. AJ's next opponent HAS GOT TO BE a top 5 guy. Parker, Pulev or Wilder.
So true...he looked much smaller and clearly lacked the power he had last year. Needs to do more cycling to build up his strength and conditioning. Maybe build some muscle that way and improve his endurance. Good way to recharge the batteries of a man in his mid-twenties.
He wasn't smaller. He wasn't less powerful. He wasn't tired. He wasn't gaunt. Breazeale was just slighty less awful than the normal bums that Joshua is fed. I don't have any time for Haye, and he's talked himself rather than fought himself into all his big fights at heavyweight, BUT when he says he would see every punch coming if he fought Joshua, i think he's telling the truth. From what i've seen so far, even the podgy slow version of Haye would beat Joshua.
Agree with above. Joshuas made for haye. One thing no one really brings up about haye is hes a smart fighter inside the ring. Thinks and moves too quick for joshua. After watching the whyte fight big josh will turn into bruno when he gets caught. For a brief moment he pretty much shut down. Fair play got himself back into it but was alarming to see. Its not like fury who was knocked down a couple of times. Haye whos been buzzed etc. Joshua completely froze for a bit. I think haye will beat him and beat him easy at that. Joshua will walk into nearly every shot. It ll be his boxing brain that lets him down as much as anything.
I'm not sure even prime Haye does enough to beat AJ. Haye's way too cautious. Put him in with someone as big and powerful and prime as AJ, and he's going to run and hide all night. Haye's probably almost completely shot now anyway. As long as AJ knows some basic boxing he should win against Haye. I think AJ's overrated. But not as much as Haye is.
AJ definitely wasn't his normal self he looked weak to me and looks a lot smaller than the Martin fight. I agree he's been neglecting his conditioning and should start Cycling asap
Thats why hes having a huge gap in between brezeale and his next fight...so he can cycle the reep the benefits when the peds do their work on off cycle....Thomas hauser arcticle explains this in detail....drug testing DOES NOT begin until a fight is announced....aj is roiding in between fights
AJ came in at his lightest weight in 2 years. Probably training for longer fights, carrying less weight and less lean muscle mass, oxygen drainers those arms!
You think mate. I m probably in the minority i see haye being underrated if anything. Great fighter imo. Maybe a bit too small for joshua. But my opinion for what its worth...he ll take joshua out. I think haye knows it as well. Hearn will stay clear of that fight imo
Can't stand Haye at all but think he beats AJ. The fact that he is past his prime arguably makes him more dangerous for AJ who simply lacks movement. Haye will feel that he has to let his shots go and will work angles that AJ won't be able to respond to or avoid.
