Have you seen any of his 'training' videos he uploads? It's all weight based stuff, never looks like he's working on actual technique

I haven't ,but I'm not surprised to hear it though. I deffo feel he needs to fight someone like Martin Murray as a benchmark to see where he stands at world level. Muddy is similar in many ways, being a big strong physical middleweight who like junior is not a big puncher. He would test junior, without being too much of a threat ko wise.

I think Murray has been on the slide for a bit now, not sure he can get back to 160 either. I think anyone world level would be a good test for him now because we've little other than a loss to Saunders to measure him against

It remains to be seen how long junior can continue to make 160 too. I think that may be a factor in the rush to fight GGG. senior didn't last long at 160 himself as i recall and maybe he sees Juniors days at 160 as numbered too. Whereas GGG can stay at 160 as long as he likes, juniors clock may be ticking.....

He isn't a one punch knock out artist but he is very powerful and strong, it's his boxing ability and footwork which will find him wanting at top level.

A big problem for him could be if he can no longer make 160.

I think that may well be a factor in the Eubanks haste to fight GGG.

At 168 a lot of his physical advantages will be gone, - as we saw with Martin Murray vs Groves.

No doubt in my mind CEJ is struggling his ass off to make 160

    1) Why else would he already be talking about Degale?
    2) If you haven't seen them, all his recent training clips are just straight cardio and he said pre Doran fight they have just been doing cardio
    3) Obviously he just missed weight and he's pretty shredded @ the limit

i'm not a fan of cej at all but he does punch hard, as mentioned he is not a one punch ko artist, but he is heavy handed and wears fighters down.

I agree. I think they view taking the ggg fight now as a one-shot roll of the dice. If he loses...and he will lose.....they will use the weight struggle as an excuse and move up to 168 immediately.. If by some miracle he beats ggg his legend is made. It's worth the risk for him. Even if he goes down guns blazing he won't be disgraced.....cos unlike safety first Murray, who really fought to survive, CEJ will go for it. He hasn't the ability, skills wise or defence wise to do anything else, and he is brave and tough too so he will go for it.

I see it the same as you. Only CEJ is going to win!

Bang on, thats my thoughts exactly, also most people are shocked he wants GGG fight and lets be honest it is a massive step up from Tom Doran

'Martin Murray's Law' - an internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion involving lencoreastside grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Martin Murray approaches".

Dearie me! I've only myself to blame I suppose..😀
Well ok hnh , but do you not see my point as being valid here?
Murray is perfect prep for ggg. Big strong tight defence granite chin. Plus Murray has already fought ggg himself. Also I DO believe junior would try to take it to ggg, not shell up like Murray did....😀
