Finally figured out that I sprained my wrist.. best solution I've determined is it needs rest and icing since it is mild but lingering since I re-aggravated yesterday in the same exact way.

Any tips on how long or often to ice it? Other things to consider? Saw something that said to wrap it in a warm moist towel but I thought cryotherapy is better to go with.

there's new studies that show heat is good for injuries, but i personally stick with cold first. if its been a few days you can flush it with cold hot cold hot cold. start and finish with cold.

which hand is it? i believe that getting an injury is a suggestion to work on something else. if you cannot punch for two weeks then work on headmovement and footwork for two weeks. if your right is injured then work your left.

there's always something to be done.

Its my right wrist, problem is a lot of people head hunt at these gyms so when I work on the bag and throw a solid straight to the body, it feels like I just punched concrete from all the sand compacting at the bottom and buckles my wrist even with wraps and 16 oz gloves.

Yea, I do a lot of footwork and focus on technique with taps instead of power on my right. Using my left a lot, I sparred with only using my left in the philly shell so I could use my right hand as the wiper to try and simulate what I'd have to do if I hurt my hand in a match.
