GGG is the reigning MW king and has dominated the division. None of the other 160 pounders want to fight him because they are scared / not in his league. However, Kell Brook is an undefeated quality boxer. Do you seriously think he is going to give up that 0 for a measly payday for a thrashing by GGG? He must believe he has a chance and therefore this will be competitive. He is a big WW at 147 and he won't be weight drained. This will be a lot closer than Canelo vs Khan. Khan can make 140 and he is not big for that division. I don't believe that people are complaining that two decent undefeated fighters are going to fight. It rarely happens these days. Stop complaining and enjoy the fight. It's definitely a fight for the gamblers because Special K has a chance.
one of the best middleweights ever against a mediocre welterweight is pretty one-sided. there's a reason decent/good middleweights are scared of triple G. he's in another league.
I won't be watching this garbage. This is embarrassing for Golovkin. If no one in your weight class will fight you... you move UP... not 2 divisions down against a fairly unproven fighter. He is 34 years old ffs.
This match is a joke, Brook fought only one top level rival - Porter, and his win against him is not so clear, at least - questionable one. I can not blame GGG, this is simply business move, I suppose he had no choice because of cowardly behaviour supposed opponents (there is no need to mention them, every fan who wants to know - knows their names). So, GGG was in lose-lose situation, and he chose the big money. Alternative was waiting until December, or match against Heiland or Johnson, and lot of boxing fans would accuse him because of "fighting bums"....
I felt Brook dominated Porter in their fight, but regardless, this fight between GGG and Brook is an embarrassment much like the Canelo vs Khan. Maybe if Brook looked good in a tune up against a 160 lbs fighter, it would be received much better. if there is no one there in your division, there is a few willing in the weight class above... Ramirez is building a nice fan base and I got GGG knocking that kid out.
Log off. Seriously. Marquez at the time was rated as the top 2 or 3 boxers p4p on the planet. Brook is nowhere near that. Floyd had been out of the ring nearly 2 years. Log off.
ward is rated number 2 so does that mean its ok for fury to fight him just because he is number 2 p4p? p4p means nothing
Here's my only issue with the fight. It should have been asked for at 155-157 to aid Brook in just the slightest by slowing GGG if only minutely. I know....I know....f CWs, etc etc etc. But GGG was ready willing and "able" to go to 154 for Floyd, 155 for Yeller or Cotto and asked Ward for his fair share of the loot, to come to 164. Hearn or Brooks mgmt should have at least tried to make that deal. At least the IBF 10lb rehydration clause will be in effect, which will aid Brook some, but he's gonna need every nanosecond advantage in hand and footspeed to counter GGGs footwork and precision and power. Brook is, IMO, head and shoulders above the rest at WW, and he'd likely have little trouble conquering LMW, which would ultimately make this a dream ticket, but he's made his bed, and he's got to use every tool he has now to either win a decision or lose with respect. :think
people are going to be shocked a the weigh in when theres no size difference. brook can beat this guy
