    How terrific a welterweight was "Keed"Gavilan ? Well he went TWENTY FIVE close rounds with the absolute prime Ray Robinson without hitting the deck once.
    Gavilan who I saw a few times had a granite jaw and great stamina. And Gavilan was a great showman who packed MSG when he fought there...

    The TV guys in the mid-late 50's used to interject comments about Gavilan...even though Gavilan was way past his prime.

    Gavilan sadly overlooked today.
