Is it Parker, or his team that is so intent on fighting exclusively in NZ?

Do you think it would be wise to spread his wings a little?

I believe this was the last fight required in NZ as per signed commitments to DUCO Parker's promoters. Tuesday is apparently an announcement for his next fight and opponent. No mucking around.

Decent performance from Parker in a keep busy fight.

Hard to really gauge his progress against such an over matched opponent but there was some things I liked there. The commitment to use the jab and to box more. He didn't really load up with anything ridiculous which he has had a bad habit of doing, so that's a positive. That finishing uppercut was also a beautiful shot.

But there are still things he needs to work on. Head movement is lacking, still doesn't counter anywhere near enough which means he's kind of easy to read as his transition from defence to offense is predictable. His movement is getting better but he still backs up in a straight line too much and has a bad habit of lingering by the ropes which is when Haumono was able to get to him.

But his movement in that last round was much better, he moved way more laterally and that left Haumono chasing shadows, which may have led to Parker walking him into that peach of an uppercut. So it seems he knows what he needs to do, it's just a matter of consistent application.

Would like to see Ugonoh in with someone like Tupoa now. The winner of Long/Ugonoh will probably be about the best local opponent he can face at this point.

Apparently the ref screwed the count and missed 4 seconds of it. I was confused when it was called off but I figured fair enough. But now Solomon is lodging and official protest. So if it goes through they'll have to rematch lol. Which is pointless because Parker won that in first gear fighting like he was bored

Probably good for Haumono that it was stopped... But yeah the ref screwed up.

So what was Haumono's game-plan? :huh

His coach Justin Fortune kept talking up in recent weeks some kind of secret weapon they had cooked up to beat Parker instead of just relying on Haumono's brute power (which Fortune likened to George Foreman's and Tommy Morrison's, having sparred with both of them )

...to me this sort of looked to be the same old Solomon, business as usual. :conf

Sorry guys, but AJ's the superior boxer. Stronger, longer, more power, only problem with AJ is that he has very little head movement, but he's got such a long jab that it doesn't even matter as long as he's not facing someone as tall or as rangy.

At this point AJ probably wears down and stops Parker in the mid rounds.

    Ramírez isn't exactly long-suffering, eh?

Went to a knee pretty much whenever Ugonoh landed flush.

Joshua wins at this stage in their careers if it is the next fight for both of them, Parker is talented and now needs to really step up his opposition which I hope he does, now more domestic level guys like Haumono now
