Has this been confirmed? If true then it could explain the lack of effort and him going into cruise/survival mode. If it isn't true then it is hard to to think of a more plausible explation for Mendez's post round 2 effort other than he was paid to lose.

 

You guys drive me mad, you want Campbell to step it up a level yet destroy him when he does. He got caught flush, went down and got back up again no bother at all, where's the glass jaw?!!!

I agree, I've never suggested on here before anybody didn't want to win or looked like they had no intention of winning but...

If you are abroad, drop your opponent with a shot that wasn't overly hard you do not stop throwing punches, and you certainly don't switch to the body and that's exactly what Mendez did.

Mendez hit Campbell once in the face with a soild shot and dropped him and after that only threw shots with power to the body.

It was blatant in my opinion, Mendez didn't try after he dropped Campbell, if you don't try you don't get paid.

 

There are some posters who inhabit some alternative boxing world where fighters are never remotely hurt in a fight, and if they are they are then described as having a jaw of "pure china", it'll be only a matter of time before his "mandible is shattered".

To be fair it does seem as though Campbell is packing china in that mandible of his. The cracks have been appearing and it is only a matter of time before it is viciously shattered.
