I think Al Haymon may be involved with ITV, with Matchroom exclusive with Sky I cant see any other promoter who can supply enough quality fights to fill PPV cards with UK fighters. He already has Frampton, De Gale, Khan, Selby could be planning to raid Queensbury / Matchroom for more....?

If it is only PPV, it will not work

ITV's coverage of sports is ****e.

They don't have the right type of fighters either unless they can bring Frampton, DeGale etc into big UK fights.

Only way this works is if they have a promoter/organisation and regular free to air cards to supplement the PPVs.

Unless Frank is going to shut down Boxnation and get in bed with ITV again the options are incredibly limited- in short Hennessy, Sanigar and Goodwin fighters plus Frampton and maybe Haye. That's not exactly a stellar line up.

Does anyone know when Selby and Degale's Matchroom deals are up?

I'd like to see ITV get back into boxing but there needs to be some actual thinking behind it- not the mentality of Mick's shows which were poorly promoted.

Hearn said a few days ago that al haymon will have to get Selby the Frampton fight because he only boxed twice in last 18 months so his contract must of ran out with matchroom. As for degale Hearn said 1 more fight after the porky fight but I can't see him boxing undermatchroom banner for the jack fight so you can say that deal is as good as over.

ITV could sign Olympians and build them up on itv 4 etc etc then have the ppv fighters like Haye, Frampton and even Fury etc etc

Was hoping BT Sport would take a slice

This itv box office channel could be for the new champions league contract they are getting. Doubt it but it could be.

    Which new contract is that?

BT have exclusive rights till 2018.

Bidding for champions league rights after that hasn't happened yet.

Even if UEFA decide terrestrial TV must have at least one game per week it wont be till the current deal with BT expires.

Lee Selby is proof that being with al haymon isn't some guarantee of greatness like some on here would have you believe.

    Where are the big fights?

Don't shoot the messenger but I've heard this channel will be launching with Haye/Briggs.

Bidding is supposed to take place this year some time. The fact they have itv PPV could mean them being able to bid for the full lot of games like bt has. Just a thought nothing more

Nah ITV haven't got the money for that. Only hope they have is UEFA enforcing that terrestrial TV must have at least 1 game per week. UEFA are not happy with the ratings on BT sport so there is a chance they could go back to 1 game per week on FTA TV

BT could lose most of the coverage to sky though.
