instead of all these pointless threads about how fighters are not or ever been the number 1 in their division lets see if we can get a list of our fighters who at some point were number 1 in the world in a division.

ricky hatton at light welter was considered the best at one point.:good

naseem hamed would have been classed as number 1 at featherweight even if only briefly.:good

lennox lewis was number 1 at heavyweight:good

tyson fury i suppose after beating klitschko is number 1:good

johnny nelson could well have been number 1 ranked at cruiserweight albeit a weak division at the time:good

    are there anymore?:good

I've seen people claim Froch was briefly number 1 at 168 when Ward was on hiatus.

Blobby/Jackie/Solaris is proving that even a broken clock is right twice a day by saying Calzaghe was rated as the number one fighter in his division.

Some people considered Conteh as the number one LHW in his pomp. With multiple champions it becomes difficult to say a lot of the time with the amount of consensus number ones being few and far between.

might be just me but even though he ended his career with a perfect record i think there was far too many ducks against the top guys during their primes, would he have beaten hopkins or jones jr had he fought them a few years earlier ? I'm not sure he would have:good

Doesn't matter. He was the Number 1 at 168 after beating Kessler.

Either Frampton or Selby are the best at feather imo. James Degale will prove to be the best SMW as well.

I think Russell Jr beats Selby and Frampton tbf, but you could make the argument for Selby or Frampton being top dog.

Well remember that Calzaghe v Hopkins was all sewn up when B-Hop was 160lb champion, only for Hopkins to pull out.
