This fight is a very good fight and its pitching the best against the best but im afraid it will not get much support from the casuals

They should not of put it on ppv

When rumours of this fight first started circulating I felt there was a lot of hype about it but since then I personally feel it has plateaued and died off a bit. Could be both of their tune ups? Could be that I remember it's Andre Ward after all? Lol.

Could be true unfortunately. It's a shame because it really is a great match up.

I seriously wonder if HBO hasn't really been hyping the match up because they aren't 100% convinced it's going to happen.

Yeah I agree it's hard to justify it on the back of Porter v Thurman,it is a great match up and going off the pound for pound thing quite historic too but the light heavy division isn't as well followed as the glam divisions of Heavyweight and welter weight, shame really.

Especially not 2 weeks after HBO & Bap take 80+ out of our pockets only to have Jay-Z with his hand out.

It's gonna do ****py which is sad because both guys deserve the exposure and this is a fight not only for the division's top seed but it is also 1a vs 1b (in my opinion) p4p fighting each other. How often does that happen

It's sandwiched between Pac and Cotto PPVs 2 weeks before and after.

The promoters know they're going to take a bath on this one, but neither wants to be the one to come off as the ducking party.

Get ready for plenty of shenanigans as Duva and Roc play chicken because neither wants to lose both a headlining talent and bunches of money. I'd love for it to come off on the 19th, but don't hold your breath for it unless you love self induced brain damage.

Casuals don't tend to buy a PPV anyway unless the fight is compelling, both fighters are well known and well hyped.

Is HBO gonna put on the Vargas/Pacquiao fight or is Top Rank gonna promote & distribute this fight alone?

It will definitely be HBO. They picked up some of the tab for Pacquiao's contract extension through the end of the year with Top Rank so they're joined at the hip.

Unfortunately, casuals may be disappointed from this fight if it actually happens because it could very well be a boring chess match/prom slow dance. They probably won't care enough about the significance of the competitors.
