Do you think he will box for a World title in his next fight? There are rumours Gary Russell Jr is moving up to Super-Featherweight so Josh could likely become mandatory and have the opportunity to box Jo Jo Diaz for the vacant title. On the other hand I still think many people would like to see the Selby fight, however I am not sure if Selby has a mandatory coming up as I know the IBF are quite strict with that.
Just checked ibf site and number 1 and number 2 are not rated so he mustn't have a mandatory any time soon Warrington is rated 5th would be a decent little fight and would like to see it in the UK EDIT- Mandatory : Jan 09. 2017 could easily fit a voluntree in before that
Did Jorge Lara give up his spot in the rankings or something, people on here was saying he was Selby's mandatory a few months back. Well, If I was Josh I would rather box Selby than Gary Russell or Jo Jo Diaz thats for sure.
Lara is rated 9th, I think your only entitled to 25% of the purse as a mandatory where as a voluntary it could be any % below 50. Could be a reason he gave his spot up. Warrington best shot at a belt would be against Selby, especially if it's in leeds
Casuals don't know who Russel Jr is. he'll still sell out because of the moronic Leeds casuals but it won't draw the attention of the casual fans at large. Selby has a better chance of doing that, but Warrington is scared ****less of Selby.
I have a funny feeling Warrington could carry on boxing the likes of Hyland for the next two years and his loyal band of followers wouldn't even be bothered. Boxing fans are there own worse enemies sometimes.
Theres been rumours for a while well since he fought loma that grj is struggling at the weight but hes still there so youd have to assume hes stsying there forcthe meantime. Hes mentioned hed like another go at loma and hed have to move up for that so i suppose if the time was right he will move up. Escandon is interim and warrington ranked no1 with josrph diaz no2 doesnt the interim get first dibs. So if grj was to move up i would of thought it would be escandon v warrington. In leeds thats a fight josh can win. If grj stayed then the next best thing for josh would be the selby fight at leeds. Selby recently said that josh had missed the boat but i reckon that if frampton rematches lsc in his next fight the only sensible route for selbz would be warrington. Imo this is a fight josh can win. Selby is overrated imo. If josh doesnt get selbz or escandon then id like to see him in with a top 10 to 15 guy accross the board cos he aint ready for any of the other belt holders.Although there is one or two of these i also dont think hes ready for diaz been one of em. If the right fight comes this yr i reckon we could see josh been a belt holder by the end of the year
Mate what u on about, at most boxing events the crowd aint boxing fans. Most are there following locals or family members dont let ur hatred of leeds footy fans skew ur opinion.
