Happy Birthday for Monday VGA, how old are you going to be? Or can't you disclose that information on here
All the people saying conlon wasn't robbed should leave these forums. You must have zero boxing knowledge if you thought conlon didnt win that fight Michael's interview after it: https://twitter.com/SixHeadz/status/765566562854109184?lang=en
Get in there Stevenson, made a very good Erdenebat look average. Enjoy the glory while it lasts before Russian corruption takes a medal from your pocket. I just found out Tischenko was supporting the decision of the judges. What an idiot.
There's around a dozen seriously corrupt officials & despite the random draws they always do the fights AIBA decide to fix The ALG ref, the judges from POL, SRI, VIE & BRA were all paid off before Conlan threw a punch
I agree Nikitin was landing some good shots and it wasn't as one sided as the BBC commentary were suggesting, but no way did he win the fight. He was landing some good shots but was getting hit himself a lot to land the odd good shot. There were allegations of corruption before the games and it seems like there is some substance to these reports. AIBA just like Fifa, the IOC and other pro boxing organisations are corrupt to the core.
the ref even started to raise conlon's hand, but then realised it was the russian who won and raised his
he'll win gold, and probably get another disgraceful decision over toledo in the final, wait and see! why couldn't have banned these russians from the start
My God you're right I missed that the first time round, she clearly goes to raise his hand and then puts it back down and raises the Russians.
I do understand he is upset but if Levit can come out last night after that ridiculous decision and pick up his silver medal with class and dignity then Conlan looks and sounds like a complete bellend. Swearing and throwing around accusations on live TV is not a good look regardless of what he thinks.
Yeah true, it doesn't seem a full blown robbery I guess. Conlan's arm punches are annoying, too many of them. Once he learns how to sit on his punches, and structure himself more so in accordance with this than he did previously, he'd be a spectacle (basically when he turns pro, which I'm sure he will after this). In the mean time, it is deffo about scoring punches but also about effective aggression and ring generalship, both of which swayed towards Conlan's favour. I almost forgot that Conlan had to change strategy since he wasn't given the first round. Conlan would've made easier work of Nikitin if the judges weren't corrupt.
