I'm not suggesting Stevenson as a rival for the Val Barker. I'm suggesting Ramirez as his only rival, if Ramirez wins gold.

Don't worry folks, found out the answer to my question. You could end up with a nasty gash on your hand.

I reckon there is probably a dozen Kazaks in that crowd. Cruz's style is not popular with Brazilian fans.

Stevenson does not deserve Val Barker unless he completely and utterly dominates and destroys the great Robeisy Ramirez.

La Cruz is the top contender for Val Barker. The three Gold Medalists so far have had amazing performances - Dusmatov, Yeleussinov, La Cruz.

I'd go with Ramirez, BUT he's been in 4 tough fights whereas Stevenson has had two easy fights with two easy boxers. That could play a factor in the game of reflexes that will ensue in this final.

There's an element of truth to that. A lot of fans just like to see guys wail on each other and actively resent fighters who avoid getting hit.

If La Cruz does goes go professional, he is, unfortunately, going to run into real trouble getting big fights unless he can build a fan base quickly. No big name wants to fight a guy who is very good, makes his opponents look bad and doesn't bring cash. I'm not wishing this on him - I love his style. But whoever ends up guiding his pro career, if he has one, needs to learn from the way Rigondeaux has been shut out.
