Dempsey doesn't look out of place there.

There is a similar photo of past champions sitting on chairs in a ring. Willard is huge as compared with Carnera. Jess was a massively large hwt. Jess at his best had all the tools except great skill. He was a fighter with great heart, will to win, strength and power. Gunboat Smith who was known as an excellent right hand puncher stated that Willard never stopped coming in their bout so much so that he "hit Willard with a right hand that nearly tore his ear off" but he kept coming.

 

the angles of the camera change a lot the real size of the guys,i guarantee you that carnera was much bigger than all these guys willard included,also you have guys here in prime age and shape and another guys old overweight and heavier than they were in their primes. i cant believe as ignorant can be some people here saying things like "i did imagine jefries bigger etc" dempsey was bigger also than he looks in this pick,jack had big frame

 

i saw a pick where hopkins looks close to foreman and lewis in size,so here you have the credibility of a pick as evidence of size
