That's it in a nutshell Janitor...I've been watching boxing since 1963.. ...and I really don't understand this fascination with Tua...he did nothing...and YET he steamrolls Marciano...Joe Louis...etc.
get tua down to 200 lbs like he was against felix savon and yes joe louis stops him/ if joe louis fought in tuas era he wouldnt be 202 lbs and 6 foot 3 ...........more like 6 foot 4 and 235 lbs .....and if tua foght in louis era tua woulda been around 5 foot 8 and around 190 lbs
Tua has to be the most overrated fighter on this forum, what the hell did he do to suggest he'd have anything then a puncher's chance against ANY ATG HW? The ATG HW he fought (Lewis) totally outclassed him, the elite HW he fought (Byrd) schooled him and he only beat fellow contender Rahman by cheating. Louis wide UD or late stoppage.
i dont care a super **** about they would be in another planet, they were like they were, tua was bigger, stronger, got a much better chin, more power and had good stamina, period
Tua was a low skilled hwt contender with a ko left hook. Not enough to beat the greatest hwt who ever lived. Louis by blistering stoppage within 8 rounds.
louis doesn't have size and movement to beat tua. yea he is a great puncher with great combos, he may catch tua and finish, but i clearly like tua who has a better chin, more power and wouldn't have problems with louis slow feet.
For f***S sake you'd think Tua was some top 10 ATG HW the way some people go on, the reality is he had nothing but a good chin and left hook which wasn't enough in his era and it wouldn't have been in any other era.
Lewis was 6'5" 249lbs with an 84" reach Tua couldn't reach him. Louis was 6'1.5" and around 202lbs with a reach of 76" ,he would be easier to tag for Tua.Tua's problems were with cagey ,swift ,defensive fighters.I don't pick him here, but let's pick Louis for the right reasons.
