Spot on! How dare any of these guys disagree with the word of boxing legends like Tunney and Arcel who actually saw both Jack Dempsey and later fighters in the flesh?!?!

Just sayin. Might not want to write him off so quick when he actually fought Dempsey and witnessed Holmes.

Not a bad position to draw an opinion from.

So, I should have listened to all the crazy sh*t my grandpa said?

Sometimes old people are better off to shut up. There's a fine, or not so fine, line between wisdom and senility.

Are you saying we should ignore every senior citizen because of the risk that they might be senile?

The world through your eyes sounds like some oppressive evil society.

Actually, I think it's best to ignore most of what Tunney said. The man was a racist and said some really despicable things. Its no surprise he wouldn't give credit to two black fighters fighting for the championship.

Time for a reality check here folks.

People can’t see into the future, they can only see into the past.

There is no need to throw your toys out of the pram, because some older fighter or trainer did not fawn over your favourite fighter early in their career, or see them in the light of hindsight.

Next time you read a comment about Ali before the FOTC, or about Holmes in the early stages of his title reign, try to look back from that point in time.

Who is throwing anything? Some of us are merely pointing out that Tunney talked a lot of ****.

What were you saying about Wladamir Klitschko early in his title reign, and what would it look like in hindsight?

Let’s say that you fell under a bus after he beat Sam Peter the first time.
