Are we counting the round in which Kovalev is goin to take him out as rounds won or not ?

If not so then my prediction is that Ward will outbox him all rounds so 0,but will get caught sooner or later and its curtains.

Kovalev is not just a puncher. He is a boxer puncher who generally accumulates enough shots to stop his opponent. He doesn't go for the highlight reel KOs and therefore doesn't take unnecessary risks. Yes, Ward is a good boxer with excellent counter punching ability but Kovalev won't be running into punches.

Ward will try to make it a tactical fight. He may try to get within Kovalev's power range, as he did with Froch, to nullify his size and power whilst also giving himself the chance to whip that head of his up off clinches and contact Kessler style. Alternatively he will only counterpunch to force Kovalev to make the fight and frustrate him.

Kovalev is smart and would know what's going to happen. He has a better inside game than Froch, but he needs to be wary of that massive head. Wlad, Floyd, Khan and Ward all love to tactically clinch. I would hate to see this fight become a hugging war but Ward isn't going to stand and trade.

With a decent unbiased ref Ward will get worked over. Kovalev is just too good a boxer and his power shots add up too fast compared to Ward's pitter patter.

So, Kovalev's only chance of winning against Wardis by KO/TKO?

So, as the scenario stands, Ward can only win this fight by decision and Kovalev's only chance is a punchers chance of scoring a KO?
Somehow, I don't believe the fight will be that simple.

Kovalev is a good boxer but I don't think there's many (if any) that can outbox Ward so IMO Kovalev will need a KO to win. I presume he'll get frustrated pretty early then it'll be dangerous for Ward because any slip-ups and it could be night-night but I got Ward winning this on points pretty comfortably as long as he stays on the job for all 3 minutes of every round!

peds will increase stamina to run for 12 rounds but will not make the chin stronger. they may have the judges and the ref ala floyd but once kovalev lands ten shots, the game will be in his favor.

That's exactly what I thought. Or, Ward is leading 4-2 and catches an atomic bomb that puts him to sleep. Kovalev's jab is going to be key in this one.
