I think you're the saddest clown on this forum. Way worse than Tibbs or Solaris or Blobby Nelson. I don't think you have an insightful bone in your body. I don't think you're a Pro Punter. I think you're a sad loner.
Surely you understand with all the workload a boxer takes on.. the amount of calories a day they burn... 8 meals is to maintain a weight and bring it down slowly? He weighed 176.. he isnt going up is he? Hes brought it down. He'l be eating well training hard and bringing the weight down slowly, which is wayyy better than crash dieting... So this 'artificially'make a weight is stupid he hasnt gone up in weight, this isnt a guy walking round at 160 trying to eat and gain weight is it.. i would agree with you if it was
I didn't say I don't understand what it means, I was just asking if you thought that anyone else finds it funny?
Boxers stretch their weight for good reason. It means your taller, possibly stronger, better v02max, move better, improved stamina the list goes on He says I'm enjoying eating all the time, so it's not normal procedure for him. If maintain or fight well aboveq your peak weight then all of the advantages stated above and more are lost. Why do you think virtually every boxer below hw does this? Like myself I used to fight at 81kg. Last winter I went up to 104kg. I've gradually worked my way down back to 90kg. Only have two meals a day. Okay so I'm not training with the same duration or intensity as Kell but iif I was then yeas I could set more meals. The point is I've lost 2 stone but I'm still 1 1/2 stone from my 'fighting' weight. I can of course train and just about spar okay at 90kg. But if I tried to compete I would be a big slow toad. That may hit harder, but would have poor CV, movement and speed
A lot of people saying "Brook is hitting harder!" which is absolutely true because that's just how weight works. What they don't seem to understand is the relativity of power. Whilst he may be hitting harder at MW, it will most likely not be as relatively powerful as it was at WW if that makes sense. Or maybe I'm talking nonsense, it made sense to me though.
Agreed. Is he hitting hard for a middleweight? And can hit manoeuvre himself into a position to realise that power
ofcourse they all drain, they want the size advantage. It why on the day fight weights were good but even then you had guy draining and the recovery time wasn't enough. My point was that he isn't eating to gain any weight is he? You cannot do this in 8 weeks, think about it. How can you come from 185lbs to 160lbs whilst gaining size? you can't. If you give somebody a year ofcourse they can get to 160lbs and be more solid at the weight but in 8 weeks its impossible naturally. So forget all the talk, my assumption would be hes coming down to 160 slowly, will be doing strength work and eating lots of food to recover and perform again... I can't understand how eating food can be seen as a bad thing as opposed to hearns quotes saying around now brook would be burning 2000 calories per day and eating 500... not accounting for what you burn naturally anyway (BMR). How can this be ideal for going into a fight? It can't, there's a reason when you have a guy who fights around his walking around weight they tend to have good chins, good power and good cardio... kell brook is too big at welter, he drains way too much. how can you come from 185 to 147 and perform, its crazy. (he always comes from around 185..) Alot of guys around him, old trainers, current trainers have said they feel his ideal fighting weight (in the gym) is around 154... so the leap to 160 isn't as great as it's being perceived. The idea of training for a fight, whilst dieting on crazy low calories whilst eating very little to no food and being asked to come in the gym 3 times a day to train is beyond ridiculous & then people wonder why boxers turn to drugs. Drugs allow you to do all these things and maintain hormone levels and perform, natural men just cannot do this.
Yes he would be better suited at light middleweight. When he is a welter is still has a relatively high FFM though. Hes not a walking skeleton like some drained fighters. He actually looks amazing. And I expect he could fight among the top 10 and be competitive at mw. But he's fighting the top trump at two weights above his world title.
