Paul Butler - why is he so inactive?

I really rate Butler, think he is a marvellous talent. Lovely tidy compact little boxer. Great to watch. But only one fight this year! How is he not more active? Surely this is one of the big disgraces of domestic boxing?
Whatever happened to his much-touted fight with Jamie Conlon for example?

He has switched trainer a couple of times in the past few months. I have a feeling that defeat to Tete really affected him. The knockout in itself was bad but the way in which he was dominated must have left him with some serious questions. He had been looking good in his career up to that point and was probably feeling invincible.

Any word on an opponent for Conlan's Belfast fight yet?

I'd honestly forgotten about Butler entirely. He seems to have fallen off the face of the earth since the Tete fight. When was that, over a year ago? How good is Conlan? Ashamed to admit I've seen nothing of him.

    Very strange about butler alright.

    Which conlon do you mean?
The pro... Jamie....isn't all that great IMO, and I'm Irish saying that. He takes far too much punishment and lacks power. Super fit and brave etc, but I really don't see him as a world class talent. There was talk of him v butler and I got into trouble over here for bluntly saying butler would murder conlon, which he would.

The Olympian mick is a serious talent, and i mean serious. Could easily be a world champion, but we all know that's conditional on so many factors going right, so let's wait and see. On the downside I seem to recall he gets a bit silly at times and gets too involved a bit more than he should, and has been dropped as a result. He'll have to curb that habit as a pro.

Had five straight k.o wins since tete I think, now training at gallaghers gym and has moved up to bantamweight, some nice match ups there domestically and the weight he won the world title at. IMO he beats Haskins and already has beaten hall maybe European title would be a good route. Conlan and mgm turned the fight down would have been a great fight, they fought in the ams with butler coming out on top but means nothing to me. Anyone not seen conlans last few fights get on YouTube well worth it.....

He's not boxing again until Gallagher has taught him how to not move his head properly.
