Over 40 and watched wrestling for kicks and boxing for blood when I was a kid. I parted ways with the wrestling as an early adult and just stuck with boxing for as long as I can recall.
Loved Vinny Paz as he was a Ric Flair kind of guy IMO.

I have been in & around the sport of boxing , both in and out of the ring , for over 35 years. I'm sad to say I have never seen the sport I love sink as low as it has today
Corruption is rampant, from State Commissions on down , $$$$ & influence count as much towards winning a dec as does a fighters skills and heart. There are still great fighters out there but they do not always get a fair deal

36 next week and my oldest memory of boxing would have been watching the McGuigan v Pedroza fight, when I was 4-5, with my family.

I saw some of the big fights of the 80's and caught most of Tyson's and Bruno's fights, but it wasn't until the Benn and Eubank era in British boxing that I started being more of an avid fan.

Ill be 48 in February. The first boxing I remember watching and actually understanding well was probably the 76 Olympics. Became a huge fan, VCR recorded everything on TV, played Title Bout Board game, subscribed to Ring early in HS- big boxing nerd. We boxed in our basement and backyard in MS and HS like idiots. Looking back coulda got killed. Have loved the sport ever since 76.

I will say this- Prime RJJ and young Tyson were best fighters ive ever seen. Especially RJJ. But my favorite ever is Micheal "Second To" Nunn, who I saw on TV many times as he was coming up.

I know it still has its problems, but its still the greatest sport in the world.
