    What exactly do you mean by modern era? Strictly 135 or 140 too?

    He would have his reign at the top but eventually his personal demons would be too much.

    It's pretty damn to remain on top when you're a heroin addict.

    He inflicted Duran's first loss when Duran was 31-0 as a lightweight and dropped him in the first round also. He was stopped twice by Duran in rematches if I can recall and retired after losing to Mamby in the early 80's.
    He died at the age of 37 after suffering from HIV / AIDS. Duran visited him during his last days to show his respect.
    This speaks volumes from macho Duran.
