"About a month ago blah blah blah". Why would they be offering anybody a fight a month ago? There were in the middle of a camp for a world title fight. Boxer's never look past any of their opponents and they didn't know if Golovkin would get past Brook for sure or not either.
I must admit. I'm surprised to find out Golovkin is the one doing the ducking. I expected it to be the other way round.
It's shaky, but the Liam Smith fight wasn't expected to be even be competitive. People were more curious to see if Canelo could make weight and still look good, which he did. I doubt they actually made an offer, but it isn't that far fetched that they would just look past Liam Smith. Now for GGG vs Brook... as good as Brook is, most people expected him to get knocked out vs GGG.
There's a such thing as proof! Shots were fired, let's see if GGG and his team try to refute Canelo's claims in the days to come.
They not lying. Abel confirmed an offer was made. He also said team canelo are starting negotiations in a way to not make the fight.
Yeah I know they were both expected to win but the fighters don't look past their opponents. Or at least if they do, than they don't ever admit it and lie when they say they don't.
I dont know the facts here but i suspect at some point soon we will read a statement from K2 saying they did recieve some horrendous laughable offer out of the blue from GBP. Oscar knew who would be stood in the ring with a microphone in their hand at the end of the fight last night and knew what questions would be asked. After the win against Amir Khan Canelo and Oscar said what they said and have been getting ridiculed ever since. They knew they had to have something to say this time. If it had been a solid offer we would of heard more about it.
I think the offer was a 90/10 split (which I think GGG has earned more than 10%) and/or a flat fee (which is laughable at this stage). This will be a mega fight and both fighters should make a huge amount not just GBP...
