Golden Boy's $10 Million To Ggg, If I Were Tom Loeffler What I Would Have Done.

So Oscar offers $10 million to GGG which would probable translate to 5-20% while GB gets the rest. I would love to have seen Tom Loeffler at the post fight and after Oscar says GGG's team was offered $10 million he should have told the press "Yes we were offered $10 million but I am a nice guy so here is the same contract except we will offer Canelo $20 million" Then he should present Oscar with the contract and a pen. I would have also said that we have a contract with a 50/50 split which is the most fair and since GB and Canelo feel they will beat GGG easily we have 2 other contracts offering 70% to winner or 90% to the winner. Then say we have 4 contracts they could choose any one of the four they like. If you find Canelo's balls and your pen we can get it done now.

They would get a heck of lot more from the fight. If you think $10 million is generous from Oscar what percentage do you think that translates to?

It would have been hilarious to call their bluff the way I mentioned.

Should be much higher, look at it like this. This fight will do 600-800k PPV buys, have a 24/7 series, and sell 80k tickets. This is one of those "fight of the century" type of fights. I think 10 mil will probably round to about 2-5% for GGG and that's just them trying to price themselves out. If the fight wants to get made they need to offer GGG something in the ball park of 15-20%

You are terrible at mathematics if 10 mill was 2-5% they would be splitting 500-200mill, Floyd and Pacman split 450mill!

No way they split 100mill let alone 200!

But GGG is not doing this for the money. It's only the honor and respect of boxing that he and his fans care about.

Ten million is fair, but I doubt that Golden Boy made the offer.

    1. The offer is for a YEAR from now...with two interim fights each. What if Alvarez loses drawing power and GGG continues to build? What if one of them loses?

    2. GGG has 3 belts, and will probably have 4 by this time next year. Alvarez brings nothing.

    3. Brook cleared $6M as the B-side with GGG, who probably made closer to $10M. For a fight against a welterweight. He's gonna need a lot more pay for this fight.

    4. Alvarez sells 300k and GGG sells 150k. 67-33 split is logical and fair up to 450k, and any buys above that should be split 50-50.

    5. This fight sells out anywhere at any price and clears 1M buys easily. Probably around 100M total revenue. Say around half to the fighters. Should Alvarez make 40M to 10M for GGG? Nah.

Considering K2 Promotions is funded by the keeping 15-30% of it's fighters purses since they began in the early 00s....I'd say theyve got a LOT MORE than you think considering both Wlad and Vitali have topped the 10 million mark several times on their own and have heavily invested in their promotional banner.
