Yes, i think Stevens is better than he was back in 2010 but he has not progressed enough to beat someone like Canelo.

This would be a good fight for Canelo to start his 160 campaign. Stevens would be a tougher opponent than Kirkland.
It will be funny if he choses Gabe Rosado.

 

Oh absolutely but Stevens´ ceiling is low, Brinkley proved it(and Brinkley never was a puncher nor that good of a boxer).
And Canelo was not nearly "nearrly stopped by a 135 iber". He was hurt by a smaller fighter, just as Brinley hurt Stevens.
The fight is a mismatch and would be a showcase of Canelos power(can he stop him or not).

My entire point was that Canelo would completely outclass him. His power would be on show because he would land everything that he wants to. Now can he stop someone like Stevens or can he only stop the likes of Kirkland?

Lol, Stevens is horrible. What has he done since losing to Brinkley? He's only known for calling out GGG on twitter only to receive a highlight reel knockdown. He's always been a limited plodder, couldn't knock out glass jawed Rosado on BKB.. His MW ranking was completely fabricated. After getting bossed up by Jesse Brinkley in 2010, he took a 2 year sabbatical from the sport, only to knock out 3 bums in the first round and win an 8 round UD.
