Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

There were quite a few mixed MMA/Kickboxing fights during the heyday of JMMA. A round or 2 of boxing followed by a full 5 minute MMA round.. Rinse repeat until finished. Would require a lot of breaks(change of gloves/gear) in-between rounds.

This would be a freakshow that a lot of hardcore fight fans would scoff at, but it would without a doubt capture the interests of the public. I'm man enough to admit that i'd fall in the latter category.

 

Boxers beat boxers and Ray Mercer beats MMA fighters. Just kidding. Two different sport. Neither guy can beat the other guy at his game.

 

Which is exactly the reason it should be held under mixed rules.

 

Stupid azz fuggin' fight.

In a boxing match Floyd KO's McGregor in less than 2rds.

In an MMA rules match Floyd gets his shot pushed in.

Simple as that...

 

id watch it but we know how one sided it would be.. even with mayweather being as old as he is

It was never on, was never going to be on, seems they were unable to agree terms.

 

I must admit, a little bit of me would have liked to see McGregor get taken to school by Floyd but at the same time the vast majority of me is so glad this isn't happening

Mayweather wants huge money for a very easy night, another celebration of his career, well we had that with Berto and most gave him a pass but McGregor was a ridiculous idea.

Mayweather wants Pacquiao type money without fighting a genuine threat. I think any fighter would if they could but like I said we had Berto last time and if Mayweather wants to come back for 50 and 0 then at the very least he should box another boxer.

If you are trying to make a fight with a mixed martial artist then you are not a serious fighter any longer as far as I'm concerned.

 

It was always a nonsensical idea. Funny as it'd be be to watch McGregor get an absolute schooling before being knocked out to serve as the final exclamation point on Mayweather's highlight reel we're not really missing out with this bout being finally ruled out for good.

Those of you upset you don't get to see Conor embarrassed- don't worry, Amir Khan is willing to fight him in the Cage.

 

Stupid story to run... some of the stuff they put up is terrible. They should focus on getting Ringside back on TV!

I'd actually favour Mike in Tyson/Holyfield III though..
