Do you agree that canelos cowardness has lost some of his drawing power i mean the way he publicly invited GGG in the ring and saying he will fight him you honestly think that would not hurt his star power?

He did 250,000 buys he even did more for the angulo and lara fights and that was years back when he was not as known

I've been reading numerous youtube comments, and it's the 2nd time i heard it on here.
I often see people comment the likes of 'if canelo leaves it too long ggg will become the a side' 'it should be 50/50 ggg is the a side' etc etc

Bruh no, 700k to 1mil is realistic neither are the STARS fanboys seem to think they are. Don't let PBF/PAC fool you those guys were historically great generational fighters before they became PPV main stays. None of which describes Canelo or GGG

We need to see the Boxnation UK viewing figures also, but I'm not surprised at around 250-300K buys.

Many people of here told us fighting Liam Smith was a "smart business move" with "huge exposure" in the UK and around Europe and personally I didn't and still don't think it was a "smart business move".

The legendary Chavez Sr said a couple of days ago, if Canelo wants 1 million PPV buys he needs Golovkin, Canelo isn't selling those figures without a compliment to himself, it takes two to make a great fight and a great event.

It will take both of them to have a chance to generate those figures, Canelo isn't a big seller on his own, without Mayweather and Cotto the PPV figures for Canelo are not overly impressive.

Same article says Brook-GGG did 500k.

How reliable are any of these numbers anyway?

Anyones who thought Canelo would get huge exposure in the UK fighting Smith clearly have no idea about boxing over here.

Liam Smith is a nobody in the UK. He fights on a small obscure channel and most people don't know who he is.

    No you are way off.

    JMM v Barrera (2 Mexicans) did 225k

    JMM v Pacquiao 2 did 400k

    JMM v Casamayor did 100k

JMM v Mayweather did 1.1 mil

    JMM v Diaz 2 did 200k

    JMM v Pacquiao 3 did 1.4 mil

    JMM v Pacquiao 4 did 1.15 mil

    JMM v Bradley did 375k

As you can see he only did over 500k when he fought Mayweather and Pacquiao and they were huge ppv draws.

Other than that his numbers are decent but don't suggest he was majorly popular because he is Mexican.

Exactly, lots of us British boxing fans were saying just that, Boxnation isn't Sky Sports and Liam Smith is not a name here in the UK when compared to a very long list of other fighters and no way on earth is Liam Smith a name around Europe.

Well, IsaL was educating these boards about "smart business moves" and saying Liam Smith was one, so were a few others to be fair, it wasn't just him, I'm pretty sure most of the usual Canelo fan boys were echoing this "fighting Liam Smith is a smart business move" line.

It's proved not to be a smart business move looking at the probable PPV figures and I honestly believe we will find it was even more depressing when we see the Boxnation numbers.

Their recent pay per views made the same kind of money. GGG's sold more but Canelo's cost more so it came out the same. So it looks like Golovkin's pay per views are going up while Canelo's are going down. As far as Canelo's ppvs having more buys, most of those are do to Mayweather and Cotto. Yes, Canelo's Mexican numbers are huge, but those are typical for boxing matches in Mexico, Chavez Jr, Marquez, and others get twenty million when they fight too. No doubt Golovkin does the same kind of viewership in Kazakhstan.

    ;) Kazakhstan population = 17.54 million

    Mexico population = 127.02 million

    Latino's in US = ~56.6 million

    Draw your own conclusions.

What would any of you prefer: Being able to kick someone's ass and having that person be afraid of you or being more popular but knowing deep down that guy could beat the crap out of you?

Yet these weak little cucks, waive their pom poms and squeal about how some grown man who would not spit in their faces if on fire is so much more popular than another grown man.

The even have to lie and claim 152 K PPV buys was actually 97 K.

They are so ****ing gross. Bragging about winning an ass kicking contest against a one legged man.

But the most bitter pill of all in that on a Global stage Golovkin is far more popular than their manufactured, protected, privileged, recessive genetics, ethnic champion Cucknelo.

Now all you teenage girls can go back to arguing over how cucknelo is so popular. Cringe worthy really!

Idk... I think Canelo has adopted the hate the way Floyd did, and GGG has the fans adoring his every move and word like with Pacquaio.. by this time next year the buildup to this fight will be tremendous. As it is, both guys have a huge fanbase, and like Floyd, people will pay for the opportunity to see Canelo get "Destroyed" so to speak, for their satisfaction.

I mean, I honestly think if Canelo could rake in 900k buys vs Cotto, I think it's possible for Canelo/GGG to double that. It does seem like GGG 'S popularity is soaring past Cotto at the moment, don't you think? I think it's quite possible.
