I swear some of you are children. Before posting your insane opinions based upon quotes from boxing promoters (historically not the most upstanding and truthful sources) please remove your tin foil hats and understand the following three facts:

There will be many offers and counter offers.

You will not be privy to all the details.

The fighters themselves will not be doing most of the negotiating.

 

Canelo and his camp are arrogant. GGG is the superior fighter and Canelo knows this. He may have more star power because of his fight obsessed Mexican following but GGG has the belts. He has earned them. Canelo hasn't. Man up, Pollo, I mean, Canelo. Make it happen. You two need each other to make this kind of money. Be reasonable. Canelo should agree to a 55/45 or GGG should walk away. But they both will be walking away from the biggest payday they will ever make in their careers. And then when they look back 20 years later, living modestly, they will say what was I thinking.

 

Being the "superior" fighter has nothing to do with anything in negotiations for this fight. And I think that's a false statement right there. Ludicrous.

 

The correct term for what GBP is doing is "POSTURING" usually used in Politics to deceive or falsely attempt to impress.

 

Numerical proof isn't even needed to figure out that Alvarez is by far the bigger name and draw.

No he is not you disgusting liar. Golovkin's fights are broadcast in 100 nations while Cucknelo's are broadcast in less than 20. World wide GGG is much bigger and only gets cast as this B-side through proxy, partisan discrimination that is systemic in boxing.

This is financial based ethnic discrimination as it's most vile and repulsive yet so many of you support this to placate your inner hatred for certain fighters from specific global origins.

You want more deserving and talented people punished because they are not manufactured frauds by big Western promoters with built in ethnic fan bases.

Though that may true about his fights being in 100 countries, it still doesn't take away the fact Canelo is the bigger star in this equation. Canelos Money revenues, merchandising, PPV BUYS are generated on a higher scale than GGG. That points to Canelo being the bigger star, no doubt.

 

The problem is the ppv share, GGG can take 12M to Canelo's 50M, make a 60-40 split favor of Canelo, he can still earn a sh*tload of money. The fight can take 2M - 3 M buys.

The less qualified, weaker fighter who is less credentialed at the weightclass in question deserves way more money because he is popular.

I guess sports do mirror society. Who cares about how well you do a job or your depth of character when you have popularity from an adoring ethnic demographic.
