Here's a question, why can't there be two A-side fighters? I mean we know Canelo is A-side and we know the Champ GGG is A-side. Yes Canelo has the better resume but he has no where near the KO percentage as GGG. I know people will say GGG is fighting bums but these "bums" were champs in the division and he KOed all of them. I feel that both of these guys are the A-side. If A-side only means how much money you make then why ever fight tune ups or lower ranked guys if fighting the best guys bring in the best money (PPV, attendance, ect.)? Let me know what you think?
It's Bull Sh1t the A side B side rant.....you are only as good as your next fight...and anyone in the Top 5 of all divisions is the so called A side...some divisions weaker than others but still the A side.!!!!
Yes this and quite frankly it's all Canelo and his fans have to cling to,I've never seen such devotion to a boxers bank balance,it's really odd don't you think?
So then is this what boxing has become, the best not fighting the best but who gives me more money? How can a fan justify say "that's my favorite fighter because he makes the most money!" If that is the way it is now then why were some people upset about Garcia v Salka? Ever since I was a kid and followed boxing the best fighter was the one who held the belt until a better fighter came along and beat the champ and won the belt. in Canelo's case I considered him the best when he had the belt after beating Cotton but then he just handed the belt to GGG and without saying it made it look like GGG the best because he did not (or it looks like) want to fight him. GGG has been KOing people left and right and people call them "bums" but yet some of those fighters were Champs and undefeated fighters. I hear people say well he didn't look good against Brook because he was getting hit. GGG TKOed him in the 5th and broke him orbital bone. Canelo wae getting hit by Smith too and Canelo KOed him in the 9TH. I feel that we have here a rare fight where both boxers are seen as the best and in their primes. Like a Lenard Herns type match up.
So then it's not about who is the better fighter it's about who makes the most money? Why would people want that to decide who is the better fighter?
Some boxers make more than others, that's just the way it is. The boxer who grosses more money dictates the terms. That's where the A and B side comes from, it's really not rocket science. Also, who are these "champs" that GGG beat? He won 2 vacant belts, the other belt came from Lemmy after the real IBF champ got sent to a mental hospital and had his belt stripped.
I think that Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier fought for even money. Ripping your opponents off and playing games when there is plenty of cash to go around is a ***** move unworthy of a true champion. A real man isn't stingy. He's generous not greedy. He shows respect for his adversary and observes the rules of sportsmanlike conduct. One should strive to be a champion both in and outside of the ring showing fairness toward all and meanness toward none. The pursuit of athletic excellence is only a reflection of our pursuit of spiritual perfection. If it is not, then it becomes an idolatrous worship of the physical, the lowly, and the base in human nature.
Truth....They are not true Boxing Fan's would not have a Clue there whole argument seems to be about how much Money Fighters are bringing to the table ....Was fortunate to have been around for the golden Years when Fighters gave Fan's what they want and if Fighters did not come to the table and make the fight happen they would be disgraced Big time...now Fool's congratulate them and wank themselves over Blatantly Ducking...no way they are real Boxing Fan's.!!!!
I am a fan of boxing and I would love to see GGG fight Ward. But at the same time I would love to see a unified undisputed MW champ as well. We have not see this done in a very long time. It really sucks right now that fans are more about who makes more money than who is actually the best.
