Eubank know he will get chinned when he faces anyone decent .

GGG would have ended he's career , he's dad made the right move losing he's pen

 

I still think hes pretty raw. But believe hes got the best style out there to beat golovkin. Hes fit. Relentless. Can hit. Looks like he can take a hit. Trains the right way. I dont think anyone out there atm will outbox golovkin for 12 rounds think as the eubanks say the best way to beat him is to push him back. Watching the brook fight. I can see golovkin at 34 tiring in a gruelling fight. I d advise his dad to bring a towel to the fight cause it could get nasty for him because he doesnt quite have the fundamentals of say bjs but at the same time i fancy him to give golovkin big problems. Hopefully it gets made in about a years time if eubanks can get through a couple of better names and keeps building momentum.

 

I think most of the board would be in agreement with the OP. A good jab beats Jr. He looks to have excellent stamina and certainly has quick hands along with great athleticism; but his balance is terrible, he postures too much, I don't think he'll deal with anyone who has good footwork (case in point being Saunders, Jr doesn't have strong fundamentals) and I'm still not sold on his chin being anything better than decent. Spike hurt him in the third round of their fight.

The real problem being that he has fought only once at world level so it's difficult to really say how accurate our opinions are

If you can't box on the back foot you won't beat ggg and he doesn't have power to trouble him.

Boxed one good boxer and lost, refused the rematch twice, even heard the second time it was on Adam booths advice saying he would not beat bjs ATM his own trainer at the time (even though it was very short lived).

For me European level and needs to get a move on, like to seems him fight someone maybe for the ebu and go from there.

 

I think people are being a tad unfair on eubanks junior. Hes still a work in progress. His fight with bjs was close and came a bit too early for him. But bjs is a title holder afterall...with an extensive and very good amatuer career. Hes bashing up british level fighters pretty handily atm also. Every bit as good as say carl froch or james degale did when they were around the same age. And look what they went on to do.

Hes a good fighter. His footworks poor. And will cost him against the wrong type of opponent but hes defo got enough going for him to be a major player in the division imo.

 

The question s how far more can he go. He has pretty much maxed out how far fitness and athleticism can take you. To REALLY progress from here he needs to move on from being just a super fit super athletic guy who can hook all day. His jab, balance, footwork and increasing power through improved punching technique all need work....lots of work.

 

Like BJS said he is a good fighter but a poor boxer. At elite level you need to be a good boxer if you do not have devastating ko power.

Eubanks will come undone when he faces the top guys in his division. He lacks a good jab doesn't counter well and just relies on ambushing in on his hand picked domestic bum opponents.

 

Eubank lost my respect when he trash talked about Golovkin, promised a huge fight, then ran away..................at least Brook took the fight............................Brooks lost, but it took a lot of guts..............Eubank or his father must be ******ed, they should not have lead boxing fans on.................look at the money his lost...............

 

Yes but what people miss with the Eubanks is that his Eubank Senior is an egomaniac and a control freak, and is not acting in the financial and business interests of Junior.

He is clearly obsessed with not letting little Jr get another loss on his record so early in his career, when 99% of people out there would have taken the money and their beating like a man and fought GGG. Where else is Jr going to get that kind of one off pay day from, its going to take him 6 years and 12 fights to make the same money if truth be told as he would make from one GGG fight, and boxing is a short career.

 

The team around him have done him no favours in preparing him for the bigger stages,fights ahead and not just from making insane demands and promotional issues.I am talking about fight preparation.I tipped BJS to beat Eubank Jr at the time and remember many on here thought Eubank Jr would win,each to their own.He came on strong and is a good fighter,no doubt he has technical flaws.

He certainly has a team around him that to me are more of a hindrance than a help and guys forget all the posturing and talk from Sr for a minute and look at one fact so many overlooked in that fight again and again.

He had never gone more than 8 rounds before.He had only been scheduled for one ten round fight up to that point against Ivan Jukic which was a one round blowout.

The BJS fight scheduled for 12 and I couldn't see it finishing inside the distance did anyone with a reasoned view think otherwise? Eubank Jr came on strong after losing the first 6 imo he had never gone 12 and was wary of gassing.It is a massive step from being in 8 rounders to going the championship distance,he could of won the fight no doubt if he had the knowledge that he could pace himself to do the 12 ask any experienced fighters or trainers it is a massive mental and physical hurdle.

 

Him and his dad are a circus act, but credit where it's due he's exciting to watch.

 

I m sure i seen somewhere today there talking about eubanks junior v george groves.

Got the makings of a great fight. Rate both of them. Groves is quality imo but held back with his vulnerabilities. Eubanks probably the sturdier of the two.
Could make for an interesting fight.

Bit too dangerous for eubanks for now imo. Needing to get him in there with better opposition but sticking him straight in with groves from the last guy he foughts a bit too risky for me.

 

Can't see that happening, Groves is a weight division heavier and he's positioning himself for another crack at a world title.

Groves is announcing details of his next fight next week.

I know they've sparred numerous times... prior to the Degale fight and his first fight with Froch I believe. With Eubank sparring with Froch for the return fight.
