What are some of the best ever undercards in boxing?

Don King used to stack ppv's with great undercards back in the day. Like every single one of his ppv's were stacked back then, there were probably 3-4 fights that could've been main events on their own.

Here's the thing with UFC,you get as many as four top fights on a card,Boxing needs wake up to what the public want as Thurman v Porter and Spence v Bundhu and in UK Hayes stupid mismatches proved the public do like boxing?

Yes.. Tyson v Holyfield 1. Zolkin v Akinwande WBO heavyweight title... Moorer v Botha.. IBF heavyweight title.. Tyson v Holyfield WBC and WBA heavyweight titles.. Christy Martin v Beth Payne.. Ricardo Lopez defending his WBC title..

 

Matchroom do a good job of stacking the undercards on PPV fights


Already in discussion for the next Joshua fight is Parker or Briggs v Price, Whyte v Chisora, Kal Yafai v Concepcion, Scott Quigg return and Callum Smith v Luke Blackledge.

 

I liked the undercard for Barrera vs Juarez II.. those were Evenly matched fights with major implications for the winners and losers.

Marquez vs Fedchenko was very good as well.

Depends what you want in an undercard. Do you want stars as big as the main event, or do you want great matchmaking that creates exciting fights. On the undercard to Pacquiao vs Morales I a contender for fight of the year, there was another contender Arce vs Hussein. Roman Gonzalez has fought on a lot of Gennady Golovkin's undercards recently so that gives value for money. In that theme there was a card in like 1984 where all the men's Olympic medalists had their pro debut: Whitaker, Holyfield, Breland, etc. Then Roberto Duran vs Carlos Palomino was on the undercard for Holmes vs Weaver. Gomez vs Pintor was on the undercard of Hearns vs Benitez. Roman Gonzalez vs Juan Francisco Estrada was on the undercard of Viloria vs Marquez.

Yeah. might go tits up the undercard though, because if it's Klitschko as AJ's opponent, I'm guessing the budget won't be that big for an undercard.

 

Julian Jackson, Gerald McClellan, J.C Chavez, Terence Ali, Thomas Tate, Meldrick Taylor, Lennox Lewis, Tony Tucker, Hector Camacho, Oba Carr, all in the same card.
The rematches card was even better, McClellan vs Jackson II, Chavez vs Randall II, Brown vs Norris II, Lejia vs Nelson II and Meldrick Taylor, Ricardo Lopez and Giovani Parisi were also on the card.

 

The card for the Chavez vs Haugen in the estadio azteca, was also a great one.
Trinidad, McClellan, Norris, Nunn and Nelson vs Ruelas.
