They are business men. He's early in his career. He doesn't need to risk a loss for it when he's got a lot of fights ahead of him.
Hearn has more or less laughed off the deal being done as wk is asking for 65% of the purse and he is asking for all kinds in the contract as he sees himself the a side.as the champion joshua has every right to atleast 60-40 in his own favour
Some of you need to look at Hearn's own words. He said they are only fighting Klitschko if it is for the IBF AND WBA belt. And Wlad absolutely is the A side here. Joshua has a pathetic resume has been coddled and fought nothing but hometown fights. Wlad has fought all over the World. If the WBA isn't on the table Hearn is taking his ball and going home.
I wouldn't get too excited. According to the IBF Chairman he hasn't even heard from Hearn : “First of all, we have not heard from Eddie Hearn regarding Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko” - IBF Chairman Lindsey Tucker. (I provided a short-cut to the quote but our trusty friend the ESB filter blocked it)
Vlad would have stopped Fury in the rematch, that's one reason Fury ducked out of the fight for the second time in a row..................Vlad would have knocked Fury out...............I know why Vlad lost the first fight.................. Vlad used to toy with Joshua in camp, sparring with Joshua, it was a huge mismatch. Joshua will have had to have improved several 100% to give Vlad any real problems. Vlad is just technically superior, lots of power, experience, stamina, balance, footwork, defense, etc., Joshua has a shaky chin, suspect stamina. Joshua will get psyched if Vlad is anywhere near his old self.................Joshua believes that Vlad is old and finished, when the fight starts, if Vlad does not fold early, Joshua will not do so well.....................
Would love to know how a fight for the IBF belt can happen without the IBF tearing up their own rules. Wlad: Isn't top 15, is coming off a loss and holds no belt.
Yes a 50/50 split sounds fair to me. Both are similar sized draws as well, when Wlad has to make a purse bid for a mandatory it's usually in the $7 million range. Joshua generates at least 400K PPV's if reports are to be believed and that's close to $7 million then you add gate receipts which will be a few million and oversea TV rights, so Joshua is probably already making similar money to Wlad for each fight.
Again, even for the stupid ones. Nobody said the contract is signed and the fight takes place exactly then and there... Bönte and Hearn reached a deal for the fight both sides would accept, financial side is clear for both of them. Fight should take place in England Nov. / Dec. both parties are awaiting the outcome if Fury gets stripped and a second belt could be on line before signing the contract and going public with details it.
