very sad news and thoughts go out to Mike Towell family really tragic what happened. A mate who I spar with sent me a tweet of some of the jokes on twitter about Mikes surname its sickening and the lowest of the low. I hope for the sickos sake someone from the boxers fraternity does not track them down.
I read this as well can't believe it but the article quotes were from Mike partner. The boxing I do is the lowest possible wcb but even that the checks first think they ask is any problems with your head any headaches etc etc. I also read about migraines before the fight your twice as likely to suffer bleeding if you have them. its career ending and even worse so hope boxers are not going into fights with the above issue
R.i.P Big man. This may or may not be the right place to post this but posters who call certain fights bums and diminish what they do just remember ...yes it maybe choice to get in to that ring but they put their lives on the line and now and again we see terrible things happen. Anyone stepping in to a ring to fight another man deserves credit.
Top man Billy really nice gesture hope its a fantastic turn out and you manage to raise a ton of money for the family.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-37566673 "All money made from remaining ticket sales to Ricky Burns' world title defence in Glasgow will be donated to the family of boxer Mike Towell.....The JustGiving appeal set up by ex-boxer Ricky Hatton has already raised nearly £40,000 for Towell's family. Fight promoter Eddie Hearn said ticket sales from midnight on Wednesday for the SSE Hydro event would be donated."
Just checked the Jock sports pages online for any comments about Loughlin and came across the Mike Towell Fatal Accident Inquiry in progress at the moment. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/ne...l-cocaine-booze-fight-death-accident-inquiry/ Fook me he was told in 2013 that he should not drive, box or work at heights and alongside his professional boxing career - his job was a scaffolder. How on earth does one get a licence to box and pass medicals with this medical history? Hopefully some procedural controls are implemented to stop this happening again.
I seen this, heart breaking failures in the BBBofC procedures. Can't bekibelieve they do not get boxers to sign a disclaimer so boxers GPs etc need to inform them of such condition's, findings etc.
