What a bummer .. met Aaron about eighteen years ago and spent a day with him on a project .. an interesting guy, in some ways childlike in his innocence, very streetwise in others .. sad to hear he passed so young.

He was a very exciting fighter. His biggest win will always have an asterick though because of the sociopath Panama Lewis tampering with the special bottle. Considering how much coke Pryor did in his prime, it is admiral he made it to age 61.

I wish fans would stop the shading of Pryor's fight with Arguello with the " magic bottle"Nonsense. He did stop Arguello even earlier in the 2nd fight. What's the excuse for that one? Was Pryor overall a better fighter than Arguello? No, not in my opinion but he was a better Jr.welter, and that was the difference in my opinion. Pryor was a reckless and wild fighting machine. (Every knock down he suffered was because of that recklessness, not because of a weak chin ). One of the most exciting boxer this world ever saw. R.I.P Hawk, you were one of a kind.

The win is shaded legitimately. It's unfortunate but it happened.

As for the second fight Arguello was never going to come back the same after the insane punishment he took so late in such an already gruelling bout. He was not in a good way.

Would Pryor have won without the stimulants or whatever went on? Probably but there will always be a little qauestion there for some. Him passing away doesn't change anything.

Anyways RIP to a great fighter and an even better entertainer. It's a crying shame drugs crept in and nipped the final stages of his career in the bud as a trip to Welter would have been quite fascinating and he had a couple of big fights beckoning.

He was a force of nature. Would have cut through today's fighters like a hot knife through butter. R.I.P. Hawk!!!

I think he gets a little underplayed now, and I'm guilty of that too. He was really, really good. "Force of nature" is about as apt a description as I've read.

Pryor was the "Hawk", but he was equally a tornado,...again, a force of nature. A bit crazy, and indeed, he fought like a crazy man, a true force of nature. R.I.P. champ!!

I didn't know until I saw the thread. An all time great, possibly the best jr. welter ever. Seemed to be a kind hearted man too, and that's what matters, the other stuff means nothing.
