Hello, I have recently starting training as an amateur again. I haven't trained for 8 months and put on nearly 20kg of mainly fat, I didn't lift any weights. My diet completely fell apart and I had a very poor diet for the best part of 8 months.

I want to get back to competing again but first I need to lose around 15kg to get back to my fighting weight. I am 6'1 and 85kg. Not muscular at all, just a tall skinny fat kid.

Now I have explained my situation I'll ask for the advice, I need to eat around 2200 calories per day at a macro ratio of 4:4:2, I just don't know how to split my meals! As I am a student, i haven't got much time to go home and prepare a meal before my next class so i need a few easy student meals that i could put into a lunch box of some sort that would get me the correct calories and nutrients.

Also, if anyone could help me out with the timings of my meals? I train at the boxing gym Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I do a 2 hour session from 7pm to 9pm. Before my boxing sessions I go to classes from 9am until 5pm with breaks in between. If anyone could recommend certain times i should eat my pre-workout meal and what sizes my meals should be (calories, macros etc...)

If anyone could help me out in the slightest it would be a great help!

Eat healthy foods it's not hard. Lunch should be the biggest meal followed by Breakfast and Dinner should be the smallest. For Lunch you want to eat mainly carbs. For breakfast eat Oatmeal, milk, and fruit. For dinner eat lower carbs and mainly a protein source.

You don't have to go nuts with macros. You know what is healthy and what isn't. I don't like that macro **** because people think that is an excuse to eat whatever they want as long as it fits into their macros. You won't gain muscle and lose fat from eating snickers, I don't care how many calories you're eating.

Eat as little meat as you can an get your protein through as much vegan sources as you can. There is a reason vegans are usually slim.

Come on mate, nobody here is going to take the time and research to create you a diet plan for free.

An important thing to remember when losing fat is to regulate your carbs. Consume around 80-90% of your carbs the hours before, during and after hard physical work i.e. training. On your off days reduce your carb intake.

BTW, there's no good reason to become a vegan unless you want to save the animals or whatever.

It is easy as hell to lose weight when meat and other non vegan foods are cut out. When he reaches his desired weight then it is his choice to start eating non vegan again. There are plenty of sources of protein for vegans you just have to look. Plenty of fighters are vegan. Nate Diaz and Bradely off of the top of my head and don't give me that "well just cuz it works for them doesn't mean it works for everyone" bull****. We are all humans and our bodies function the same with obvious exceptions due to allergies and such.

Bottom line is if you are trying to lose weight than cutting out meat is the fastest way. Things like milk, cheese, and eggs put on weight too. So soy options would be better.

I can't believe I'm going to actually agree with virus, lol! but why the need to cut out meat? You can still cut weight eating meat especially if eating lean meats along with your greens and good clean carbs. I agree with everything else your saying.

I didn't say at all that you couldn't cut weight eating meat. I said it is easier to cut weight without meat. Eating meat helps add weight. That is why fighters in the 50s ate a lot of meat to build muscle. Meat is calorically dense therefore it is high in calories. If you are trying to cut weight you want to decrease calories and it is easiest to just cut out meat. Why would you want to make it harder than it already is? Cut out the foods that will put on the most weight.

It's not difficult to lose weight while eating meat, eggs, dairy etc. You even said it youself - eat less, move more.

Why you think cutting out meat completely would promote fat loss is beyond me.

Could you go and post your crap on a pro body building forum, I'm sure they'd be up for a laugh.

Or common sense would tell you to eat LESS of the food that makes you put on weight.

There's no need to completely revamp someone's entire diet just because you think it's better.

I guess you don't realize that we eat less volume of meat rather than things like grain and other non meat sources. Lmao another one of virus's idiotic posts. You go on and agree with me then try using what I said against me lol. THat's what happens when you're only a boxer in theory and never have stepped in a gym irl right virus? I'm not going to turn this thread into a giant argument like you would love virus so don't expect me to read you response to this.

The irony of you saying this. This entire post of yours makes no sense.

You'll have to explain how this makes any sense. I disagreed with a point of yours, agreed with another then stated that you don't need to cut out meat to lose weight. How in the blue **** did I use anything you said against you?

It's sad that you attempt to change the subject from nutrition to boxing. Desperation maybe?

You already have. All I said was you don't need to become vegan just to lose some weight and you kicked off.

Maybe stop being so emotional on the forum.

Ok I'm still not convinced on the whole meat thing and if someone already eats meat there's no need to remove it, it's what you are eating with that's more important. Probably want to eat fish aswell same thing goes and if your eating the right foods with it you will gain muscle / lean muscle and lose fat.

If overall calorie intake is right in either diet you will gain muscle and lose fat and overall lose weight.

Well he's trying to lose a lot of weight and not eating much meat is an easy way to do it. To get 500 calories from grains or pasta you have to eat a hell of a lot more than you would of steak or chicken. It's also cheaper to cut out meat.

Bottom line is he needs to eat less. I say cut out meat because it is the easiest thing. Ockham's Razor.

If you know what your calories are and what your macros are you don't really need much help. Make sure you hit your calories only eating healthy protein, fats and carbs and you won't go far wrong. I agree with someone else on the thread don't abuse the if it fits into your macros idea and eat ****! As long as it's within your macros. Hit your macros with good food, train hard and the weight will drop off you.
