Who is the fighter in history you wish you could have fought, and how do you think such a fight would play out?

Joe Louis. He was a smaller heavyweight but he was considered one of the best, and like me, he’s from Alabama—LaFayette, Alabama, to be exact. Being that he was the “Brown Bomber,” and I’m the “Bronze Bomber,” it would have been the battle of the Alabama Bombers.

That would have been a great title fight between two hard-hitting heavyweights. Of course, I would knock Joe out. I think given his height, he would never get past my jab.

But even if Joe was able to muster enough energy to get beyond my jab, the jab would have hypnotized him enough to where he would never see the right hand coming. And once I land that right hand on him, that’s it.

Around the internet, most fans modern and old, aren't taking kindly to this statement.

I think as a prime HW elite contender, it's natural and good to believe that nobody can beat you, past and present. I think it's cool that Joe Louis is even that relevant on his mind, which can hopefully provide more exposure to Louis to newer fans.

But yeah, the way he describes it seems a tad glib. I would venture that he hasn't seen quality footage of Louis.

I can't pick Wilder until he fights a live body.

Truly embarrassing. But, nobody has ever accused the hooker-strangling, tough fight-avoiding Wilder of being even remotely intelligent. So, I will just chalk his statements up to pure ignorance.

Yes, because Joe Louis never saw a jab before. You see, it's all so simple, this boxing analysis stuff.

    Idiot.

If he could knock out Joe Louis, then would it be too much to ask him to fight somebody ranked in the top ten?

This is equivalent to Holmes saying "Rocky couldn't carry my jockstrap" or
" I'll let you know if I accept the results of the election".

No, it is actually a lot worse than that!

Holmes might have had his failings, but he was a great fighter in his own right.

Wilder barely deserves to clean Joe Louis's spit bucket in terms of accomplishment!

Wilder actually does have a very sharp, piston-like jab that ranks up with the best in division today but watching a couple mins of him fighting you see the enormous defensive frailties that would be exploited by a good fighter. Clumsily leaning away from punches with his arms flailing in the air can work against the duhapas and spilzka's of the world but not ATG Louis.

Wilder hasn't seen the day where he could hit like Louis. Wilder is a real desgrace to the sport now. First he fights bums and now he says he beats one of the top 3 greatest Heavyweights of all time because of a jab. Lmfao Louis would knock Wilder out faster than he did Baer.

Just when I was starting to like Wilder...now he must fall!
