I'm a huge Bojado fan, been watching him since he turned pro, the same as silver medallist Ricardo Williams and seen them both lose to fighters they should have never lost to. Bojado was a highly touted prospect who started his career 9-0 with 9 kos. Was often compared to fernando Vargas with the same type of ferocity. Williams was more of a boxer puncher, who relied a lot on his skills. Bojado lost to Rubio, avenged that loss, while Williams lost to Pollo on an HBO televised fight that was supposed to be a showcase for him. Both were ranked at 140, had this fight taken place, who do you got? I got Bojado WINNING a close decision over Williams. Discuss.
When they were both "prime" Williams would've won. Williams ceiling turned about to be a lot lower than it should've been. Bojado, people were just excited about his aggressiveness, he was always going to lose to someone with a higher skillset who wouldn't fold to his aggression.
Bojado was a technically sound fighter. I think he got shafted against Forbes and is arguable that he beat Leija as well. Williams at times is too cautious and that would cost him big time against Bojado. I think Bojado would have beaten Williams in a close fight.
You don't need to be influenced by the commentators, all you need is a good set of eyes to see Vargas beat Quartey to the punch while boxing smart in route to a well deserved UD.
He cheated in one fight with Oscar. Calm down, he never tested positive after that fight. And yeah Quartey should have gotten the nod over Forrest, but Vargas? No way!
