BS is the only word to describe the current state of the HW division.

Yep. It's easy to take on all comers when the standard of challenger is that of Brock, Austinand Leapai.

Sure Wlad's 40 now but if he doesn't think he can hang with the young guys then he needs to retire.

What a terrible year for Wlad. Loses his belt collection, then doesn't fight for 14 months minimum. I also read RTL does not broadcast boxing in January + February so the earliest he could fight would be in March.

I'm sure all you guys are going to tell me its just a coincidence Wlad gets injured Wilder gets injured, and Fury takes a break from the sport all at the same time Dustin Nichols is making a comeback. Just a co-inkydink.

What a disaster. HW division looked like it might be about to enter a golden age in early May, and it steadily fallen apart since. Wlad needs to either fight the top guys asap or retire. It's not all his fault but it will be well over a year, maybe 1. 25 or 1.5 between fights for him and he's embarrassing himself at this point.

My God what a terrible year this has been, especially at heavyweight. The timing of this injury seems suspicious when it was looking like Wlad was wanting to steer away from Joshua and fight Browne instead. But if he doesn't fight anytime soon then I suppose it's genuine as I doubt he'd blow another few months being inactive considering he's been out so long and his time is limited at his advanced age.

I just hope Joshua can get a half decent opponent. But I suspect it will be another mismatch against the likes of Price or Molina. Pulev of Jennings would be too optimistic considering how this year has gone.

Now they're talking about staging Klitschko-Joshua in either March or April. And by that time Klitschko will be coming in at a huge layoff out of the ring. now with his "injury", I now like Joshua's chances that much more to get that torch passed down to him!

WBA should/would hopefully not sanction it anyway, I want Klitschko out of the division for thinking he could snap up the belts and kill HW just when it's trying to get going again.

Ortiz is fighting in the UK on the 10th December for a WBA belt of some description and is #1 contender. I'm watching that space carefully.
