Rousey done it for the UFC, I see no reason why Taylor won't do it for Boxing. To be with the best promoter for Ireland, she is going to become a huge star. A woman has never been promoted the way she is going to be now. She is an icon in Ireland, the same popularity as Conor McGregor.
If anything that's going to be a reason why Taylor is going to be more popular, she's going to look very impressive. Ronda Rousey defeated her opponents in seconds. I wouldn't call that competition, but she made Womens UFC big because of the lack of competition.
But was it women's MMA that become big or Rousey that became big? Previously we had the daughter of the 'greatest of all time' and did that take women's boxing to a new level?
Rousey made women's MMA big because she became big. Right now there are numerous women's mma fights. It was dead before rousey. If Taylor becomes big (which i think she will) she will make womens boxing big.
Womens boxing is like all other women's contact sports, its vastly inferior to the mens version, because women are vastly inferior physically to men. This is the reason why no one bothers to watch it, and why it can never be anywhere near as big. In boxings case, its actually repulsive to a lot of people to watch women get beaten up.
No.if want to see to Birds beating each other up I can go down my local on a Friday night .There's a big push on the bbc at the moment trying to put women's football on a even footing with the mens game it isn't working most women don't don't like football and the one's I know like watching the top mens teams.boxing is the same if women want to do it thats up to them but they shouldn't blame a lack of interest on sexism its Just a lack of interest.
She is probably shot, so no, Claressa has a better chance, but considering that the best female boxer of all time is active and no one cares, i wouldn't bet on it.
Exactly. Most would struggle to name 5 women MMA fighters. Women's MMA, Boxing, Football etc will have niche audiences.
