Wilder has to step up, I wonder who's next ... It won't be the winner of Povetkin - Stiverne for sure.
YDKSAB i'm afraid. Watch the Dustin Nichols fight again with headphones and the sound turned up, you can actually hear the check jab land and floor Wilder even though it was ruled a slip. That ref was a joke.
More of a bad balance issue than a chin issue. Wilder got up and wiped the floor with Nichols . He did exactly what you are meant to do against a bum and blew him out in the first round. He took harder shots flush off Stiverne and never even flinched. Everybody was once a Wilder basher. Real fans of this sport give him his due for making improvements and beating respectable opposition.
Wladimir Klitschko got knocked out by Rodd Purrity in his 24th fight. Wlads record up to 34 fights was worse than Wilders. FACT
That's why the first legit HW he faced schooled him for 12 rounds and made it look easy. On the other hand, no, Axel Schulz is better than all of Wilder's opponent combined.
I do give him credit for making improvements and for his decent (although not top level) wins so far ... but wait ... that's exactly what Joseph Parker is trying to do ... make improvements while fighting decent (although not top level) opposition like Takam, Ruiz Jr ... and you bash him.
Something happened in the Tackam fight. I was high on him going into that fight but not so much once it was over. If Tackam had pushed the gas a little more he would have won easily. Picking a fatty to claim himself a champ over AJ didn't help matters either. It was the opposite with Wilder. Wasn't too sure about him initially but he boxed very well against Stiverine and i became a fan from there.
The only joke around here are clowns who make posts like this and thats a bonafide ironclad FACT. Take a look at Vitali's Klitschko's miserable run of opponents when he won the WBC belt. Gomez A chronically unfit Arroela who self admitted he trained on tacos. He's since worked himself into better condition. Wilder stopped him quicker with just an arm. Kingpin , Adamek , Briggs, Swanosuki.. lol No different to Spilka, Duhapuss , Scott. Wilders record surpasses Vitali's next year if he beats Povetkin. So you better be praying Wilder gets his jaw shattered in that fight
You obviously thought more of him before the Takam fight than I did, because as far as I was concerned, any win was a good win. One could see already in the first round the huge gulf in class between Parker's past opponents and Takam, and it took Joe a while to get used to that. On top of that, some of Joe's flaws were pretty clear to see, but it was a gutsy win all the same. If Wilder had met a top 5 HW in his 24th fight he surely would've got knocked out. Instead, he fixed his flaws by taking easier opposition and working on his game. Joe is just trying to do the same, please be patient with him!
