You have some srubs who think the face off was fake, but there is some true competition between these guys, ( not animosity, or hatred) but these guys have the desire to be the best @ 147, and that's what makes this fight Great! Not really. Brook still has to fight and no one other than Pacqiao has beaten Bradley before. Pacquiao himself deserves to be in the conversation. I'd rank Garcia below all of the guys mentioned since he should have lost to Herrera and Peterson. Thurman also arguably lost to Porter (I don't think he did). This fight is important for the division but it won't solidify the winner as the best in the division at all. A lot of that has to do with how stacked the division is though.
Brook has a case but how will he look at 147 and more importantly how will he look against Spence? Pac on the other hand went for the weakest champ in the division who was ranked number 7 in the division, and struggled a bit. I can't say Brook is better than Thurman because he beat Porter more convincingly, just like I couldn't say Porter can't beat Thurman, because Keith wiped out Diaz in 3 rounds. I hate triangle theories in boxing, but at the end of the day we move closer towards the number 1 guy because of significance which is UNIFICATION!
Vargas didn't look too bad in that fight. That fight served to show where Pacquiao is currently and he did very well for a guy that has distanced himself from boxing a bit and has aged. He deserves to be in the conversation for the top at 147 until someone beats him, even though I think the top fighters would all beat him. It's just that until someone does beat Manny we can't just exclude him from the conversation. Same with Brook. We just have so many unknowns right now. I agree that this is a big step in the right direction though.
i did not see garcia of all people to grow balls an start fighting the other top dogs at 147 first spence v brook , thurman v garcia winners face eachother for 147 supremacy. pac could also take a fight with anyone of the 4
