Were the four kings of the 1980s really scared of Aaron Pryor?

I'm thinking it was playful sarcasm then. Am I correct?

Hagler was to big but for the right money hagler would of fought Pryor without a doubt.

hearns again would of fought Pryor had the money been right I can't see the hit man ducking Pryor .

Duran duck Pryor no never if the money's right Duran is not going duck a fighter of pryor's size .

Leonard although I don't particularly like Leonard I can't honestly say he would of ducked Pryor had the money been right . Do I think he could of fought the hawk YES I do but I don't think Leonard or his people wanted to fight a fighter of Pryor's abilities for little reward . Pryor was never a number 1 challenger at welter for Leonard so you can't really call it a duck

Imagine how superb Pryor would have been at 135 if he wasn't ducked so much.

Me too, I disagree that Hearns was the best fighter of the 4 and I disagree with his earlier statement on my complete fighter thread that Hearns was the most complete fighter of the 80's.I also disagree that Byrd was ever a complete fighter. I guess I disagree with just about everything he says, lol.

Could he have his special bottle, the one Panama mixed?

Hearns would have decapitated Pryor. He was also up at 154 by the time Pryor made waves and beat Arguello from memory.

Yes, be accused of ducking rematches with Hearns and Benitez as well as not fighting young guns that were actually fully fledged welters.

He was scheduled to fight Duran for 750,000 and while that offer was presented he was in between managers. By the time that was sorted out, Duran had moved on. Pretty much the same with SRL, he was also scheduled to fight him before he found out that SRL had a detached retina.

A fight against either Duran or Benitez at 140 would have been awesome. Not sure how he would have done at 147 but I don't think he would have beaten either SRL or Hearns.

Pryor was an awesome fighter at `35 and `40 but he was too small and not good enough defensively to beat any of those guys. With that said those fights would have been fun while they lasted. The Hawk was a maniac.

It`s amusing to point the finger at Duran, Leonard and Hearns when essentially Pryor was done by 1983.

That's like saying, carmen basilio is better than ray Robinson because he beat him

The key is that Leonard and Hagler beat a prime Hearns so it's fair to say they were better. It's tricky evidence to refute.
