People hate when it's said but the truth is, Adonis is the LHW champion.
He is the actual lineage. I personally think Kovalev beats him and Ward
would be favored against him, but he is an extremely live underdog
vs both of them and shouldn't be heavily discounted (despite his age).

 

King schming. Fonfara dropped you and Karpency wobbled you. At best you're like the ****ing duke of light heavyweight. Or more like ombudsman.

 

That's why lineage shouldn't matter that much. Stevenson's only meaningful win in his career was against a shot Chad Dawson who was beaten by Karpency afterwards.

 

Nah to me the situation it more like when Sonny Boy Jaro by stroke of fate happened to be the lineal champ when there were half a dozen clearly superior (by more than a couple of levels) guys campaigning in his division.

I wouldn't make him a live dog with Kovalev or Ward.

 

Lineal champ should be the man who beat the man who beat the man, in Stevenson's case It's the man who beat the man who got KOd in his last fight by a man who doesn't KO people at highest level.

Stevenson is a one-trick pony. I'd favour Hopkins over Adonis, I really would.

Take that left away and he's useless.

Kov KO's him, Ward dismantles him to the point where Adonis MIGHT win a round or two.

I am not a fan at all but I think they have played their cards perfectly to set up a money fight against the winner.
The guy is pushing 40 and at the point of not having much to lose and everything to gain.

 

Yep absolutely right,that's why Kellerman said about both Stevenson and Cotto who at the time had the lineal belt that Canelo got,he said that by consensus both Kovalev and GGG are the true champions of the division on the account that they're knocking everyone out as appose to the inactive ducking "lineal" champs.

 

if stevenson gets winner then he played his cards right. but if he fought kovalev earlier and won then the bigger pay days woulda been there. stevenson has been lookin his age imo in his last couple fights
