Have said this with many others have said this for a long time. Of any top fighter Pac has the most adaptable style for MMA. Even with half assed TDD and BJJ he'd be a nightmare for most guys. Dominick Cruz's movement alone(obviously he has great wrestling too) is good enough to pretty much eliminate any realistic chance of his opponent taking him down, now imagine Pac.... Not slating MMA at all as I'm a big fan - But a younger Pac switching to MMA is a very interesting though. I think he would have been pretty successful.

Yep. A puncher can be effective against even a world class grappler under the rules of mma though. Yes, it's unlikely but there is that chance they could land something big in them before getting caught up.

Whereas a grappler/mma striker has no chance of outboxing a top boxer. I don't feel like this is a controversial opinion to have.

There is always a chance that a grappler can land something big on a a striker, look at Fujita vs Fedor, Randleman vs Cro cop for instance.

Important to remember though... Conor has mastered a striking style that's very well suited for MMA. Obviously he's technically inferior to any top boxer, but yeah. A big part of his success is down that. There have been better strikers in MMA than him but not many have been able to round their games out enough as well as adapt their striking to the sport. That's the genius here. A top boxer would have to adjust their style to MMA in addition to a ton of cross training.

Wouldn't really call Fedor a striker. His a Sambo/Judo guy with fast hands and good power. But grappling is his base. Cro Cop is obviously first and foremost a striker. Point still stands though. But between the smaller gloves, threat of the TD and all sorts of intangibles... Yeah. Elite strikers can be caught by vastly inferior strikers in MMA.

Yeah, Fedor is an expert in Combat Sambo, which is practically grappling and striking all in one, but regardless Fujita has the striking skills of a bar brawler, yet was able to connect to Fedor almost causing the upset of the century, the gloves do make a difference, smaller gloves makes it more difficult to defend against strikes. But I agree.

The way McGregor tries to say Floyd doesn't want a fight he wants a boxing match is ridiculous. He tries to paint a picture of a fight under mma rules is somehow more equal than a fight under boxing or rules.

    Dope #1 says
"Christiano Ronaldo is such a *****, he would get crushed if he tried to play American football and kick field goals."

    Dope #2 says
"Stephen Gostkowski wouldn't even be able to score a single goal if he played real football!"

I mean they both kick a ball and it is called football, must be the same sport then.

Pure rules either way is clearly ludicrous, but it's hard to know where to draw the line in any kind of mixed rules fight. Any kind of grappling would have to be out, but even if you allow Conor any kicking at all he'd have such a massive range advantage it'd be next to pointless.

It is true when he says he's the biggest name in MMA. If he were to go to the cage to fight Khabib for example, he'd make much bigger numbers than McGregor, but Conor's numbers are rising fast.

McGregor wouldn't even beat a mid-carder inside a boxing ring. FACT

The burning desire is no longer there for him, Coming back for the money or the fame without that burning desire is like playing russian roulette. I am a big floyd fan but i don't think he should come back now, If 50-0 was important he would have pursued that goal while he was still active.

Mc gregor and Floyd won't happen. Mcgregor excellent boxer inside the octagon Floyd one of the best ever inside the squared circle. Floyd would probably KO mcgregor inside 2 rounds.

Two completely different sports. Would be a mismatch if one were to fight in the other's sport.
