Floyd would also never accept a mixed rules match. That's the only acceptable format for this fight. Otherwise it's a complete farce regardless of which sport takes place in.

1) He CANNOT earn the money he earns from boxing outside of boxing.
2) He spends money like water, so boxing is the only thing to keep that happening.
3) He is ONE WIN AWAY from a world record (it's been done before), his ego won't allow him to quit.
4) That same ego can't accept that there's another man in combat sports doing 1mill+ buys EVERY TIME.
5) Because of that, he needs a piece. Like, REALLY needs a piece.

People saying that Conor wouldn't beat a mid-card boxer, there are 135lb'ers in the UFC that would inflict more damage on floyd in 5 minutes than he's had in TWENTY YEARS of combat.

A guy like Mendes or Edgar would seriously knock years off of his life.

The angle of 50-0 and the last win being against the biggest MMA star of modern times is a great angle... until you make that same MMA'er compete in a NON-MMA event.
