1. It was a robbery. 2. It was an AWFUL fight. An awful spectacle. 3. It highlights the dreadful state American boxing is in, both in terms of corrupt judging and also in terms of how a pair of palookas like these two washed up bozos are being sold to a gullible public as "superfight" material and top "pound for pound" fighters. These two are not even top 10 p4p. Neither of them.
1) Yes it was. 2) No it wasn't. 3) Agreed. Washed up? I think you've got your super fights mixed up and you actually mean Manny/Floyd.
1 fact about the fight: Kovalev mentally checked out of the fight somewhat after he was 4-1 up with a knockdown whilst Ward was gaining traction, he's a cerebral fighter.
1. Close fights, by definition, cannot be robberies. 2. It was a terrific fight, finally a top fight between two of the sport's elite lives up to the name. Easily a FOTY candidate. Don't let your bias blind your ways. 3. I'd like to know your list if Ward and Kovalev don't make it. Certainly both top 5 P4P right now, case could be made for Kovalev being top 3 too, with Ward a lock for #1 right now, or at the very least #2 to Gonzalez.
So being on the floor, being rocked by a jab, getting stalked for most of the fight means nothing, huh??
They are the two top men at 175. But they are 32 and 33 years old. Clearly past their best. Not elite boxers anymore."clinchbutter" ward and sergei "crudealev. No way was that a superfight.
He dug deep and won. Showed tremendous heart and dictated the pace. All true champions face adversity in their careers! This is no different.
wait is that what we call it when you hold centre but cant cut off the ring? "stalking" ? the knockdown means alot.. it means 10-8 for the round
Okay that's your opinion, but history has shown fighters in their early 30s are at the peak of their powers. Would you mind sharing your top 10 P4P list? Genuinely intrigued as who you have in it if Ward and Kovalev are evidently off of it.
Ward is the ugliest p4p fighter to watch, he's actually worse than Hopkins. The hugging, wrestling and now take down attempts need to be clamped down on. He'll never catch on as a PPV attraction. I expected more from Ward last night.
I don't really have one, sorry. But for example rigo, loma, GGG, and many others are CLEARLY better than those two crude bozos last night. "Clinchbutter" Ward and Sergei crudealev.
The first jab stumbled him off balance but he was not hurt in the sligtest, the knock down same thing he was up and smiling never once wobbled and never once rocked or badly hurt at any point in the fight, despite everybody saying he would be ko'd lol.
